Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Florida

Im so hurt to say at least once every week my family and I have Steak ‘n Shake for lunch or dinner but we will no longer be eating here. I was so astonished at the behavior and the service from this location I am still appalled. I have worked in the restaurant industry for six years and I never wanted to be that person who writes bad feedback but the service has left me with the words in my mouth. When arrived at this location my party of 7 and I were waiting for a table for 14 minutes! No one asked us if we had been helped and every team member that was on the floor simply disregarded us. When we were finally acknowledged by who I think was a manager because she was wearing a different colored shirt she presumed to tell us “I’ll be right with you guys” and she just kept going back and forth to tables as if attending everyone else was more important than seating us. When a server finally came over and sat us we waited approximately another 10 minutes to get asked if we were ready to order. Not once did she acknowledge the fact that we had been waiting for a table for a VERY long time. When asked if we were ready she seemed very disinterested and simply walked away from our table while we were getting ready to order and continued on to check her tickets on the line. At that point my 16 year old cousin felt we had been so disrespected since the minute we arrived he got up and left and didn’t say a word. My family and I were so upset we decided to leave as well and at this point NO ONE in the restaurant every tried to ask why was wrong or refrain us from leaving. As I’m exiting I ask the lady at the to-go if I can speak to a manager whom she then went on to say the manager was busy but if she could help me with something. I explained to her everything that had gone on when the server finally came up and said she assumed we needed more time. I’m sorry but every restaurant I have worked at we ask before we excuse ourselves if the table needs more time.. I’m appalled at the fact that a manager was never even around to see what was going on. A table of 8 walked out and no one was even concerned. It was rude and very disappointing and honestly quite sad that we had to talk out empty handed because we weren’t even given a chance to order and enjoy what we thought was going to be a fantastic time. 6-15-15 Horrendous wait to get seated, get a server, get your food, they forgot to bring my husbands food and my daughters juice. It's horrible.

4-23-16 Dirty tables, Horrible wait to be seated, then wait again to get a server, more waiting until you actually get your food, and get ready for them to forget part of your order, also bring extra napkins from your house because they will forget to bring yours.. At least the food was good!

11-5-16 Horrible service, again same problems! I always give this place a second or a third chance before I review it with 1 or 2 stars, but this is over the top, they always forget one shake or a burger, yes the food is good, the shakes are good but they don't use a big glass cup like they used to, you get a foam looking cup with a lid just like a kid! (At least use the transparent big lid, like mcdonalds does with their frappe's) Which means less shake! I went there with my family we are 3, I asked for chicken tenders, fries and apple juice for my daughter, 2 western bbq with the bbq on the side and one of them without raw onions and 2 brownie shakes for my husband and me, after waiting 25 minutes for our food the girl brings our food but forgets one of the shakes and the bbq on the side. So I tried looking for her but she was too busy to pay attention to my needs, I asked another guy and he seemed to listen, then I saw the bbq waiting to be picked up on the counter where they leave the food that's ready to be taken to the costumer, this guy forgets the bbq so I get another girl, this one asks me who my server is, so I tell her and it turns out the girl was right behind the counter and says "yeah, yeah I got it, I'm busy", so the other girl says "hey you are, but we are not" 5 more minutes and nothing, then our server arrives with the bbq and no shake, so I just get furious, I eat my food and I see the girl again tell her about the shake, 20 more minutes and I go pay, but I have to go back to my table to get the receipt and I see my shake, and when I come back she brings the shake and the new receipt, so I go back and pay and luckily the manager is at the cashier, I break down everything that happened I give her back the shake and tell her to keep it and to change the price, she said sorry, "we are backed up on the shakes!" Today my family and I went into our normal Steak n Shake, excited to eat. It took us about fifteen minutes to be sat, even if there were only seven tables in the entire restaurant.

It took another fifteen to be greeted, NOT by our server but one of the managers on duty. We ordered our drinks and a milkshake for my brother.

When our food came out, our server Kristia P. seemed like she didn't know what each dish was, and kind of shrugged it off as she handed it out. But then, my mother was given onion rings instead of fried and when we mentioned it Kristia said, "Oh I didn't take your order." (Which means the manager had gotten our order wrong, which is even more appalling.)

She took her plate, came back with the fri a and didn't even apologize. It took her awhile to come back to get our refills or ask us how the food was, or anything.

When she came back with our second drinks, she was frazzled because she handed the wrong drinks to the wrong members of the dinner and said something along the lines of, "I'm so sorry I work two jobs" and then proceeded to run away.

Keep in mind, my brother's Shake didn't come out. We had asked about it, and then when I asked to order a shake, she said, "It might take awhile" which felt like she was trying to convince me not to get a shake.

But then she came back with my shake to go, and didn't really say anything. No good night or how everything was. Kristia was very impersonable and not a very good server, and when we come back we will ask not to be sat with her.

Even in the end, the management seemed to be very lackadaisical. We were charged an extra order of onion rings, and while he took the extra off for us, he didn't ask how everything was... If he had, I wouldn't be sitting here typing this.

I know that this is fast food, and you can't really expect the BEST service in the world, but at least something more than what we had tonight. We are typically very patient people, but this was an...
