It was great! It's a family owned restaurant, and a hidden gem on Brandon Blvd. It happens to be in the same strip mall as Marco's Pizza. I was surprised when my husband suggested we try it. We have both recently acquired a taste for Indian curry. It's a strange thing (especially for me) because I never really liked curry until a couple of years ago. I started with Thai, and now I'm loving Indian curry. Who knew? We arrived for lunch on a Friday. We were warmly greeted by a gentleman who I believe is the owner (or a family member). It's a small sit-down restaurant that does a lot of takeout orders. It's clean and inviting. The music is very pleasant and upbeat. Kait was our server, and she was sweet and knowledgeable when asking about the spice levels. We played it safe by ordering the chicken tikka masala. It's really the only curry that we know we like. I asked for medium spice, and he went for the hot spice. Only because he wanted to gauge the difference between "hot" and "Indian hot" (which is the highest spice level). It took a while for the food to come out of the kitchen. I don't mind as long as the food is good, and it most certainly was. I tried the rose lassi while we were waiting. I'm definitely in love with this drink. I'd get it again and again. I'm so glad I read other reviews about it. It really was the perfect yogurt drink to have with spicy curry; to tone down the spice. The garlic naan came out at the same time as the tikka masala. I think it's supposed to be that way as it's usually a side to a meal and not necessarily an appetizer. Either way, it worked out very well. Everything was delicious! The medium was medium, and the hot was hot. It was perfect for both of us. My husband could have used a little more spice, but I thought his preparation was very hot. I'm not sure I could have tolerated that level of spice. It all kind of creeps up on you as you're eating it. The sauce had a nice creamy tomato base. There was a lot of lean white meat chicken that was very tender. It was enough for 2 big meals. We took home the rest of it. As you know, it's even better the next day as the spices blend together. Honestly, I can't wait to go back and try more of their cuisine. Everything was great, and totally worth the wait. The prices are reasonable. They also give a military discount, so make sure you ask. We will be returning very soon. I want to try the balti baingan and coconut rice next time. The salted lassi has also piqued my curiosity. I may even pop in sooner just for a lassi drink.

Had a great meal at Tandoor. They are only doing carryout until we get past Covid, but their online ordering was easy. I got Garlic Naan, chicken 65, Tandoori Wings and Madras chicken which came with rice. I got them at HOT spice and let me tell you, while it doesn't burn the mouth, I was sweating like I was in a sauna! The good The Naan was excellent. The Chicken 65 had some great flavor The Mafras chicken has a great sauce and had tons of chicken. It went great over the rice. The Bad It really isn't bad, but I was the most excited about the tandoori Wings. I love tandoori chicken and I love wings, but I just didn't get into them. I figured they would come out super crispy, but the skin on the wings was floppy. I liked the flavor, just not the execution. I don't know, maybe I'll try them again and ask for crispy. Still not enough to take away from the other excellent food. If you are looking for some great Indian food, give Tandoor a try.

Please go to Naan’s Indian Grill or really ANY other Indian restaurant in Brandon. NOTHING here at Tandoor is fresh. I ordered the shrimp sag, korma, coconut rice and a mango lassi and spent $40 for runny, SUPER WATERY curry that you can tell had been previously frozen and they just heated it up. The sauce was literally separating from the water! And the rice, which was mushy (probably from also being rinsed and reheated) isn’t even basmati!!! I have had bad Indian food before, but I have NEVER been to a place so cheap they didn’t even use basmati rice! If you want cheap, previously frozen, runny and watery Indian food, just save yourself the money and get a frozen dish from Walmart. Oh and rinse some previously cooked, week old, rice from the fridge to unstick it, then heat it up again. And there you go, take out from Tandoor!

Love coming here with my family for Indian food. Every dish we order is consistent and always delicious. We ordered vegetable biryani, shrimp curry, baingan bharta, gobhi manchurian, and naan bread. The portions are generous and expect to take home leftovers, My favorite is the baingan bharta and whenever we go they remind us this is one of their best selling dishes. I get the hot spice, but most will probably be better off with medium, adds a bite to the dishes without burning the roof of your mouth. The service is always so great and they are very helpful at making suggestions.
