Tonight (12/10), I had a terrible experience at Rusticas Chicken Restaurant in Orlando. I had lived in NY over 40 yrs. and move to Fl not to long ago and my husband and I are always looking for Peruvian restaurants because our Peruvian cuisine is one if the best. Well this place is one of the worst I had ever attended. I order a green spaghetti with a churrasco, which it took long to be served but I understand that good food take time to prepare to my surprise that the spaghetti was so salty that I couldnât eat all. When I mentioned to the waitress she offered to change my dish for another order after doubting for a little a asked for a Seco combinado which the waitress agree and after 5 minutes come back saying that her manager did not approve the exchange. First of all the manager was not in the restaurant, she was alert or notify of the incident via phone and picture, so the offer me a side order in order for me to finish my churrasco which according to them I had ate 1/2 and that was the reason they couldnât give me a full exchange of order. At the end I took my piece of Churrasco home and was very disappointed and annoyed with this place. I will never recommend this place to my family, friends or anyone. Last night, we went to CEVICHE HOUSE and what a difference, that is a restaurant with good food and great service. Again, donât go to this place, the food is not good.
Read moreI have moved here to Orlando from New York around 2 1/2 years ago. I have eaten at the best Peruvian restaurants and a lot of them are hole in the wall spots. I havenât been able to have a look down here. The Spanish food in general down here has nothing on New York Spanish food, let alone Peruvian. THIS PLACE GIVES YOU DESERTS FOR POSITIVE REVIEWS. I went in there with two people that are legit from Peru. I am a Peruvian origin but I was born in New York. We ordered a ceviche, A personal jalea, chicharrĂłn de pollo, and an order of anticucho. The ceviche was not fresh, everything frozen, yuca tasted like it was border line going bad. The anticucho was not grilled. It was sautĂ©ed or boiled. Couldnât really tell because it was disgusting. The jalea plate tasted like fried chicken. Fried fish tasting like fried chicken, go figure. My fiancĂ© is Irish, and she had no complaints of the chicharrĂłn. When we asked about the picarones dessert, the waitress asked if my 2 guests were Peruvian. When we confirmed that to her, she said âshe wasnât going to lie, the picarones are ordered in frozen. All they make is the sauce it comes inâ. We skipped on that. All in all, one of the worst in Orlando. Memories of Peru on international drive (newly owned spot I believe) was surprisingly good. Even La Granja is better than this place smh....
Read moreWe spent the day at Gatorland and saw this place across the street. We haven't had Peruvian before so we gave it a shot.
Sadly, we weren't able to get half chickens, their specialty, as they were out by 6:00 and could only give us each a quarter. It ended up being a small breast with a wing attached. The whole piece was only the size of a chicken breast you might get from a chicken chain or publix. It was delicious, so we were just disappointed at the size. It came with a side salad and fries, as well as two dipping sauces that were fantastic.
We also had the peruvian equivalent of ceviche. Let me tell you, this was FRESH. It was really good. The sauce was a bit overwhelming for our tastebuds, very limey, but we liked it and finished it, even though I don't think we would get it again. It didn't help that we were full from the meal when we had to finish it. It was an appetizer but came late. Had it been the first thing we ate, I think we could have enjoyed it no problem.
The servers were kind. We had different fresh juices that really added to the meal. It was a favorable experience and reasonably priced. All in all about $40 for two drinks, an app and two...
