We used to like this place, but we probably won’t be back. When we first moved to the area Dugout is the first local spot we ate at, as it is literally a 2 min walk from our house. We liked it at first, but it’s gotten pretty expensive for what it is and they started charging extra for everything - including lettuce, pickle, onion, and tomato for sandwiches which I think is absolutely ridiculous.
Update: we gave this place another try against our own judgment and were utterly disappointed yet again. Our server went missing multiple times, so our drinks weren’t refilled and our food came out cold. It was nearly empty and the other waitress who had no tables couldn’t even run our food or check on us while our waitress was busy with her other table. It was desolate and I wouldn’t be surprised if this place shuts down soon. There’s always new staff, so they probably have a hard time keeping employees. They also nearly burn my husband’s wings every time we order them. “World famous” wings and they can’t even cook them properly…
At our most recent visit, our waitress made a few mistakes with our order, no problem she was nice about it and we were patient. But.. my husband’s lemon pepper wings were so salty I couldn’t even eat half of one and he could not finish 10 of them even after physically dusting off the seasoning. To add to this, the wings were so damn salty he got leg cramps after he finished eating. My Juan Epstein sandwich was okay, but as I said before, I asked for lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickle “per request” as the menu stated and was up charged for them. By the way there were maybe 2 small slices of tomato, a couple shreds of lettuce, two small slivers onion, and no pickle to be found. When I realized she charged me for them, and I did not receive any pickle, I asked about it and was shrugged off. All that to say, two waters, 20 wings (on their special $1 wing night), and a sandwich with chips (not fries because that’s an upcharge) shouldn’t cost $46.. Especially with lack luster...
Read moreI live close by and have always wanted to try this place so tonight my family and I tried it. If it was possible to give negative stars I would to start we walk in the door to basically empty restaurant there was 2 sets of people at tables and a guy at the bar that it pretty dead. No hostess at the station so we find a seat. We can see all the “workers” at the other end of the restaurant chatting have a good time hanging out there was what appeared to be 3 servers a bar maid and a hostess working and then 2 random people chilling behind bar having fun with one another about 5 mins later our server finally comes over. We order drinks and appetizers another 5 mins go by and our app hasn’t even been started yet so we cancel and order a different one. About 10 mins later our server comes back over and takes our meal order 10 more mins go by and our appetizer shows up we eat it enjoy it and another 2 sets of people come in About 20 more minutes go by still no dinner (we ordered wind, burger and quesadilla) still nothing the couple that sat down 20 mins ago now get there food still nothing for us another 20 mins go still nothing at this point waitress brings us the check so we can pay (still no food) at this point no manager no explanation no nothing as to why 3 table have been served before us and arrived way after. Needless to say 1 hour and 5 mins after we sat down our food came pic attached. The burger was under cooked, the bun was soaked in pickle juice soggy, the wings were ice cold, the tator tots were cold and soft as if reheated. Overall the worst and I mean absolute worst experience I have even had. My family and I eat out at least 2-3 times a week and have NEVER received service/food/or wait this bad. Stay far far away. I now understand why this place is so dead. Picture attached shows raw bacon, chives and cold tator tots which is my “loaded...
Read moreWe (my family, neighbors and friends have been going to The Dugout for many years. We have had mostly positive experiences. Occasionally when they are not having their best day, they have been very accommodating to make things right....until last night. 6 of us dined and half way through dinner I placed an order for some Rib tips to take to a young man working at my house. 20 minutes passed and we were informed that they were changing the grease and it would be a few more minutes but the grease would be new. 20 more minutes passed and we were informed that they did not in fact have the Rib Tips. A phone call was made and an order was placed for gator tail which was on the on-line menu. We were then informed that they did not have Gator tail and it was not on the menu. A manager arrived to explain now that they had refrigerator problems and offered nothing in lieu of our 40 minute wait. I ask "What do you have?" The manager stated "I don't have to listen to this and retreated to behind the bar, which is where she remained until we left. Apparently the "Manager" did not believe she had to answer for making us wait for 40 minutes for something they knew they did not have. Our waitress was mortified that no other solutions were offered. We (the 6 of us) have agreed not to return and patronize another establishment "Mojo's" where the managers appreciate their customers. I would suggest you...
