Several weeks ago while visiting my daughter in Stuart Florida to celebrate my wife’s birthday my daughter and her best friend took us to the Hoffman. She told us that according to some if her foodie friends “The Hoffman” made the best hamburgers in town. We arrived got situated outside around a round wooden table. We ordered drinks and Christina’s little boy Levi ran from the patio over to the beach. Yes the Hoffmann is located on I believe the inter coastal. (I’m from south Texas so I’m not really familiar with Stuart). Our drinks, ice water for me, coca cola for Levi and margaritas for Yolanda, Myrna and Christina. The drinks arrived and so did the rain. We ran inside and chose a table on the west side of the covered patio. Thunder lightning and rain. Fast and furious and windy. Our view of the inner coastal immediately was blurred by the heavy rain. Wow. Good drinks and a light show. The fast moving storm hit from the east but within minutes it swung around and began to blow rain into the patio from the west. Again we were forced to move to another table so we wouldn’t get soaked. Slowly the storm passed and our view if the inner coastal and bridge became Chrystal clear. We finally settled down and began to order. Levi got chicken fingers and fries, Myrna and Christina ordered a classic hamburger to split while Yolanda ordered a regular chicken BLT. I was tempted to order one of their German dishes as I love schnitzel. They serve 4 kinds of schnitzel. I followed my daughter’s advice and ordered a patty melt. With the heat banished by the thunder storm and enjoying our drinks we waited for our food order. Minutes later our young lady server placed each of our plates in front of us. I loved my patty melt and the crispy fries dipped into savory red ketchup were excellent. Everyone dug into their food and it was soon gone. Sitting back we enjoyed the moment with family and friends. The Hoffman sits right on the inner coastal and overlooks the water. Great view and good drinks. I paid the tab and I felt our waitress had went out of her way to accommodate our three table moves. I guess in Stuart in rainy season moving tables is expected and a regular thing. Thanks for your excellent service. Great food excellent service the Hoffman will see us all again one day. I hope...

From the outside, the place looks like a dive bar. Don't be fooled though....the food is awesome, especially if you're in the mood for authentic German food. The Hoffman is the place you need to be.

I went at lunch and sat on the back outdoor patio deck overlooking the river. I ordered the Jager Schnitzel. It's basically a jagged flattened piece of chicken or pork (I ordered chicken) fried in oil. The chicken was tender and moist and very delightful, but lighly crisp on the outside. The Jager Schnitzel comes with a side of mushroom gravy, German potato salad, and red cabbage.

I've never experienced food like this before and I was surprised how good my Schnitzel was and how good it tasted. I dunked pieces of my Schnitzel in the tub of mushroom gravy and the flavor was like no other. My serving was rather large, so they get an A+ on quantity.

The German potato salad was delicious as well. The potato salad was fresh, cold and seasoned delightfully. Personally, I sprinkle just a little bit of pepper on top. I hope someday the sell it in plastic tubs in grocery stores. I would most likely be a returning customer.

For my beverage I ordered the German Hofbrau on tap. It was refreshing and I was happy with the flavor. It's like a Michelob light flavor but with a bit more of a Hops flavor added.

For dessert, I had the Apple Strudle. I would absolutely recommend this dish as a complimentary end to your meal. I scoop of vanilla ice cream and a strawberry is added with your strudle.

In conclusion I would suggest you try the Hoffman for lunch or dinner. They also have a bar located on the back patio. My only small complaint was the music was just a tad loud. Numerous times, I had to ask my waitress to repeat herself. I dropped over $38 for my lunch. My dessert was almost $11 alone, but again it's worth it! I rate this...

The Hoffman is awesome as far as the vibe, location and ambiance. Unfortunately, my family and I had a terrible experience with ordering dinner on a Saturday night during the winter season. Sat for an hour and a half before the waitress said we could order food, because for some reason the kitchen was on a hold at 6:30 PM. We had a toddler with us so thankfully they made exception and brought the kids meal, but once he finished we were finally able to put our order in. Once we did we waited another 45 mins. We got fed up and went in to inquire about what the additional wait was for and were told to go back outside and wait for the waitress. She never showed back up probably due to being embarrassed so I went back in to speak to them again. The food was ready but my family had already went to wait in the car. I then felt obligated to take the food and they boxed it up. The waitress then brought me a bill for $200 with nothing removed for the nonsense we had just went through. At that point I was pretty pissed and told her I didn’t want the food and was only willing to pay for the alch and apps. She then said repeatedly that I said I wanted the food to which I replied I am not paying $200 for takeout. She took the food off the bill after another 20 mins of her disappearing.

While waiting for the check we saw her in the kitchen yelling about reselling the food.

The waitress was really sweet and we could tell it was not her fault. Could clearly see the kitchen staff was breaking down.

We had really high hopes for this place and were talking about it before our visit because we heard such good things.

Bad night I suppose. In no...

FIDO Friendly! This little spot on the water is a gem. We stopped by this restaurant on the way back from the beach with our dog. They have a great patio on the water. Rachel, our server, was very nice and the service was great. We ordered the schnitzel (pork), and it was large enough to share between two people, it came with potato salad, cabbage and a mushroom gravy. All of the food was delicious. The schnitzel was perfectly cooked and tender. We also ordered the medium pretzel with the beer cheese sauce and it was very good. They even prepared a burger patty for my dog. I would highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Jensen Beach.

We had to ask if we needed to seat ourselves since no one greeted us, once we grabbed our own table we had to remind the waitress we were waiting to be attended, our appetizer arrived after everyone received their food and the calamari soggy/mushy we did not eat it, asked for silverware to eat and napkins and she brought one napkin that comes wrapped around the silverware, my fiance was literally waving his hands around trying to get a refill and receipt to go only to be ignored, we had to go inside the restaurant and find someone to check us out. The view is amazing, the food is ok/bland, but the service is one of the worst I've received.
