This is my current top Nicaraguan spot! The Spotted Gallo is a place I keep going back to and for good reason! Not only is this my comfort food but the decor and layout of this place feels very homey! Have you tried the Spotted Gallo? #miami #foodie #miamifoodie #contentcreator #nicaraguan

This place has been on my radar for a little while as a nicer Nicaraguan restaurant so decided to try their lunch specials with my boyfriend. I love the interior of the restaurant and you can tell that everything is new, cleaned well. The board out front listed their lunch specials but when we went inside the friendly server seemed surprised we were asking about them which was slightly uncomfortable. I also noticed two different customers walk in (probably due to the board outside) then walk out when looking over the prices on the menu. All in all we decided to order in which I went for the Carne Asada $11.50 and my boyfriend went with the Cerdo Encebollado $10.00. Upon the server's recommendation we also got a slice of the queso frito to share. My carne asada was delicious and cooked perfectly but it was my sides that failed for me....my gallo pinto literally had no flavor and my yuca was severely undercooked so it was inedible. My boyfriend's pork dish was stunning with complex smoky flavors to the point that I wish I had ordered that instead. His gallo pinto was also tasteless though his plantain chip side was tasty and you could tell fresh. The Queso Frito ended up being the best one I've ever had, perfectly blistered, makes me think they double fry it in a deep fryer which was so scrumptious. The meal had too many hit and misses which makes me feel I won't return for another couple months in hopes that they are just ironing out issues as a new business.

I found this modest but elegant Nicaraguan restaurant when I went to shop for a cell phone at the Sprint Store located next of it.And I tell you so I was intrigued instantly by the name of this venue. Being Nicaraguan myself I thought of giving it a try.Forward a couple of weeks and decided to try it.And I m real glad I did.The modest menu card had the most delicious sounding dishes and I was having trouble deciding what to order. As we were reading our server Ana(from Venezuela)😌😆suggested a great appetizer:Tostones top with chunks of fried cheese ,refried beans and beef that was awesome to say the least. We order drimks:a sangria for my partner and a dark beer for myself. We struggled deciding in our main dish as everything looked good. Our choices that night were: my wife pickled Camarones al ajillo(Shrimps in a spicy sauce) accompanied with ,Gallo Pinto boiled yuca, fried Madurai and the traditional Nicaraguan cabbage salad. And for me,I ordered a dish called Finca y Playa which is this venue's take in the restaurants business of Surff and Turf. Said dish consisted of medium broiled stake in a creamy sauce topped with shrimp and accompanied Gallo Pinto, fried maduros and the cabbage salad I'd mentioned before. We ended our meal with a cup of coffee and milk and a cup of espresso for me. The whole experience was more than excellent from beginning to end.All generous portions not too much not too little. We were very much satisfied and when you visit( because you will) You'll be satisfied as well. When you visit tell your friends, this medium size restaurant deserves our support. Stop reading grab your love one and go ' cause Valentine's day is...

Bit tricky with their schedule. They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays but open the rest of the week. We usually go for lunch which they PRECISELY open at 12 NOON during the week. Not a second earlier.. We usually go with a medium size group - 6 plus .. If you get there before 12, be ready to wait for a bit until clock strikes High Noon.. LOL.. ok, now to the Food... They have a lunch bowl that is a nice deal. Definitely recommend it. I usually get the Churrasco (Bit pricey) medium rare, with the Red Beans, Tajadas and Repollo. I also add a Queso Frito... DELICIOUS... We've been here over 6 times and the steak and rest of the food is always perfect. Pros: Food is delicious, Service is ok, food is delicious 😂. Cons: Opening time, closed Monday and Tuesday and the not allowing us inside to sit just a few minutes before 12. Lastly the parking here is a bit tough. The shopping center is very busy, so get there a bit early (even though you can't get inside) just to get decent parking. Above review is based on my experience during regular work week lunch time of 12.

Recommend you give them a...
