My girlfriend and I recently visited Texas Roadhouse in Miami, hoping to end our short vacation on a high note. We specifically chose this restaurant for its reputation and as a special conclusion to our trip. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a pleasant evening turned into an upsetting and uncomfortable experience.
We both ordered steaks, which, to their credit, were cooked well and tasted great. However, the good impression from the food was entirely overshadowed by the staff's unprofessional and frankly embarrassing behavior when it came to handling the bill.
We decided to pay in cash, including a tip, and gave the amount to our server, clearly specifying the total sum. She walked to the cashier station, which was right next to our table, and what followed left us stunned. One of her colleagues loudly exclaimed, “X$??? That’s it??!?!” in a tone dripping with disdain and mockery. It was humiliating to hear such a reaction in front of other diners, and it made us feel deeply uncomfortable.
If that wasn’t bad enough, when the server returned, she handed us back the change without subtracting the tip we had already included. The entire situation felt like a manipulative ploy to pressure us into leaving more money.
This behavior not only made us feel unwelcome but also completely ruined what should have been a pleasant final evening of our vacation. As paying customers, we don’t believe it’s fair to be subjected to such blatant attempts to guilt-trip us over a gratuity. After all, tipping is, at its core, a voluntary gesture of appreciation—not an obligation to be forced upon patrons. If staff members are unhappy with their base wages, they should address that with their employer, not impose their frustrations on customers who are already leaving a fair amount.
The unprofessionalism displayed by the team at Texas Roadhouse has left a sour taste in our mouths, one that no amount of good steak could mask. What should have been a memorable evening for all the right reasons turned into an extremely bitter conclusion to our trip.
We will not be returning, and we cannot recommend this location to anyone else. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, not one that leaves you...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences i have ever had in a restaurant. 20 min wait for table which is ok for a sunday night. (No complaints here)
We sat down they were "out" of most steaks 🥩 not what we wanted but my wife is pregnant and she was craving steak at this point. So we settled for a second choice steaks. After an hour, our steaks show up. My wife is pregnant so she asked for well done with no pink. Well long story short, her meat was rare, we sent it back, it was medium we sent it back again, third time the manager claims this is how well done is. I have attached pictures for your consideration. The sides were all wrong was sent back twice. After complete destruction of what supposed to be our nice meal the manager gave us $10 coupon. We didn't touch the meat. We ate one of our sides ( they couldn't get the "loaded baked potatoes") and the bread.
I took my 20 ounce meat home just to weigh it. I know the meat shrinks when cooked but there is no way a 20 ounce meat can be 5.7 ounces ( bone included).
I have been to this very restaurant many times and never had any problems. (Which is why i kept on coming back) Either management has changed, or became mentally unstable. They kept on saying its not our fault. Well, if you can't get the order right 3rd time and insisting on this is how it is... it kinda is your fault.
Needless to say I will not be back here anymore. Will not be recommending...
Read moreFirst, I would like to say my server was wonderful, the manager was friendly, and the food tasted good.
The issues were mostly environmental. When we came in it was normal loud, as we expected. We ordered an app and 4 meals. It took 40 minutes to get the app. Total of a little over an hour to get the food.
While waiting for the food, they stopped the music that was playing, turned on a different music incredibly louder, and had the staff do a dance in the middle of the restaurant. Us and the 4 tables near us were all bothered by the loudness because you couldn't talk to someone next to you without yelling.
It was also incredibly tacky because not only could you tell several of the staff didn't want to participate but already they are forced to wear shirts that say "We love our job". It's just treating the staff like clowns while also interrupting everyone's dinner. The frustrating part was after, watching all the servers go to the kitchen and collect all the food that had been sitting while they danced. Our food came out right after the dance. 2 of 4 meals cold, plus one medium steak that was supposed to be medium rare. We were all just ready to go at that point, so only one of us got a reheat. The manager did come over and apologize, and took our app off the bill. Which is why I'm giving 3 stars. Just felt like we wasted $100 since we ended up having to take everything to go then...
