UPDATE TO OWNERS RESPONSE: Thank you for your quick response below, but the pie received was not cold, in fact, I state in the review it was hot. The pie actually arrived quickly from the online order to the door dasher dropping it off. The pie was still hot enough that I did not need to heat it before eating. I know this is a Friday night and you may have been busy, but this pizza had no sauce on it to speak of and the crust was so thin you couldn't pick it up without the heavy amount of cheese falling off. Let's not blame this on the door dasher, it was just a sloppy pie that went out and never should.
I prefer to support local but after this pie arrived, the big box franchises are looking better each day. First time ordering from Urban Oak Brick Oven. Pictures and menu looked great so I placed a door dash order for a small pie with sausage. When it arrived it was hot and felt heavy and I was anxious to open the box. Inside was a pie that looked paper thin and with 20 pounds of cheese on top and tiny drops of sausage. I had to slice it myself as they either forgot or only sliced it in two inches from the crust. Not a problem, I keep a pizza wheel on hand for when this happens. The crust was as thin as the paper plate I placed a couple of slices on and I could not pick it up because it was so heavy with cheese and the crust was so thin. First bite and all I got was a lot of salty cheese, no sauce. I peel back the mound of cheese and it looks like a ring of sauce was painted around the edge. Nothing about this was appetizing or tasty and the tiny ball of sausage did not help. Really disappointing all around with this pie and ended up tossing it, what a waste of money. I've had brick oven pizzas and they are usually a nice crunchy crust with that great char flavor. Not this. Save your money and...
Read moreUPDATE: so we decided it's been a few months and has nowhere we wanted to eat so we tried this place again. Definitely a completely different experience. Waited a bit for someone to help us but the food was soooo much better and the service was as well. I do not agree with the way someone responded to this review the first time but it seems the tone and atmosphere has changed so I'm putting it behind me. They are pretty pricey but We will be back for sure.
The server was good. That's about it. First the waitress brings us plates that are dirty. Then she brings us more plates that are dirty. Aside from that she was good. The food was absolutely disgusting and the worst place I've ever eaten in my entire life. The pizza was small and completely burnt. The garlic knots were black. Completely black. The gnocchi was really spicy and about half cup worth. The steak was def not cooked med well as requested and it was so incredibly dry you could barely swallow it. The topper was it was $84 so with tip it was over $100. $100 for small portions and burnt food. We were quite irritated when we left and that's being nice. Never again.
IN RESPONSE to the answer what was given to me. First off yes you absolutely do sell burnt black food. I wish I could post a picture of our food bc I'd be happy to show you. Four dirty plates. FOUR. With brown liquid rings around them. Second, I am the customer so I cannot tell you why the manager wasn't involved. You need to speak with your server as we told her she's a great server but the food was absolutely disgusting. She said "sorry you didn't like it. Have a great day". Also "High standards"? What a joke. People with high standards don't serve food like that nor do they speak to customers that way. Also as a business owner myself you should probably learn how to speak to the people keep you...
Read moreAfter reading the reviews we were excited to try this new restaurant. We like to support small family owned businesses. We went early so it wasn't busy. We were seated in what felt like a cafeteria. One open room with zero privacy. Compared to most restaurants we visit the layout isn't what we would expect. The menu was limited but enough selections to find something for almost anyone. We ordered pizza. The "brick oven " isn't what I have had before. The edges were burnt "black" and the bottom was soft and didn't taste like it was cooked. The cheese and sauce was good but overall for a 12" pizza at $15 I wasn't happy with the quality. Let me say I never leave reviews "This is my first" but the three things that turned me off the most were, the prices, the employees " uniforms " and the extra charge when we received the bill when I used a credit card. I feel that the prices on the menu should reflect the price if you use a credit card or debit card. Hard to find another restaurant or any other business that charges you to use your card. Who stops and reads the note on the door? Unfortunately we won't be back.Try Old Country Pizza twice as much half the price better tasting and no surcharge for using credit or debit card. As you stated in your reply you're not a classy place by far. And all the gas stations I use don't charge for using a credit card. And I know that you could be ADA compliant and still have a much better design. Not to mention some of the worst pizza we've ever had...
