Just returned home from this place. I was expecting great pride in the food. Many Greek Restaurants I have been to prepare their food with skill and pride. This place is set up for volume during lunch and not much on quality. I ordered the special of the day, a Turkey Bacon Ruben on Rye accompanied by soup, fries and a small side cup of coleslaw. So let start with my meal, the sandwich had nothing that resembled a Ruben. the bread was the thinnest Rye like you buy at a grocery store. Rubens should be prepared on thick cut Rye, buttered and toasted on each side to hold the weight of the sandwich. There was no risk here of the bread not holding the weight, because the bacon didn't show up until the last three bites, the sauerkraut was almost non-existent, and for a restaurant with Thousand Island in the name it was missing from the sandwich altogether, also absent was any thought of melted cheese. Should have just called it a Turkey Bacon sandwich on Rye, it would have been more accurate. My wife ordered fried cheese, that was not fresh in any sense of the word and once more not as represented, it was baked in a pan, probably the day before and reheated in a microwave. It arrived lukewarm, with a rubbery consistency, not melty and gooey as it should have. How do I know it was baked? There was no crust to it.
My Son's 1$2+ dollar hamburger was a frozen patty, no seasoning, over cooked a dried up mess, a slice of imitation processed cheese and precooked (rice paper thin) bacon like you buy at the supermarket in a box. The Kaiser bun hides the hamburger and flavor well. Sausage Gravy and biscuits was from a can with no flavor, with enough preservative in it that when it sat for a while the gravy didn't set up like real gravy does. There were two things we ate that were decent, the french fries, from from a bag, and chicken noodle soup - likely from a can concentrate and re-constituted with water.
In closing, I was excited to find this place on line, every Greek Restaurant I have been to has made fresh to order food this is not them...Some non-food related things - Don't charge fresh food product prices when it is clear you cook from a can. Don't wait until I pay my bill with my bank card to tell me that you are charging me an additional 3.5% to eat your canned food. For service when customers come in and say we have never been here before what can you recommend, there's no reason to be snide and tell us "well we are a Greek restaurant so the Greek food is good." We should have got up and left right then. We would have never had such mediocre food at a swindlers price.
I won't be back. I will travel to Tarpon Springs in the future for my Greek...

Read moreI'm not sure if it was just a bad day, but I don't plan to come back. I ordered the turkey club with a side of fries and onion rings. It took a long time for the waitress to take our order and check on us again after dropping off our drinks (about 10 minutes). When the club came out, I took one bite and spit it out. The lettuce and tomato were old and squishy and tasted terrible. The turkey was black in some spots and mostly gray. It tasted so bad I couldn't eat it. The pickle was overly acidic, and the coleslaw was gray, squishy, and old. The waitress said she would take off the club, but still charged us the side of fries that comes with the club meal. I understand that, but as a previous owner of a restaurant and a former chef, I would have comped the entire club meal or just charged for the onion rings. When I checked out, the host at the front was very short with me. He didn't ask how our meal was and didn't apologize for the bad meal we were just served. No accountability. No hospitality. Nothing. I have felt sick to my stomach since I left this morning. They definitely didn't take care with our food. Very disappointing. Cute atmosphere and small town vibes. The waitress Diana I think her name is, was very kind. That host was barking orders at her the whole time and he didn't do anything besides walk around and acted like he...
