DISGUSTING!!!!! My boyfriend surprised me and ordered from here. He ordered me a Philly cheese steak sandwich. On the 3rd bite, a big blob of this NASTY sauce squished into my mouth and vomit came up my throat. Since he was sitting next to eating the burger he ordered, I somehow held back being sick all over the place for his sake. I fed the rest to the dog. I was miserably sick with terrible stomach cramps, a big gassed up bloated stomach, nausea and horrible diarrhea all night!! It was AWFUL!! The next afternoon I looked at the online menu to see a description of what was on the sandwich to see what had made me so sick. I called them, asked for the manager, to let them know the sauce they put on my sandwich had gone bad and I had been sick all night and was still feeling sick. She asked what I ordered n said it was a beer cheese sauce they made in-house and was made that day (I'm sure it was, especially since her assurance she would PERSONALLY change the online menu was a complete lie!). On the online menu it states a 'delicious cheese sauce'. Beer makes me DEATHLY ILL! If I had known there was a slimy stinky disgusting beer cheese sauce on it I wouldn't have NEVER EEEEVER ordered it!!! Or ordered it without the disgusting beer cheese sauce n have the right kind of REAL cheese on it. I told her I can't have ANYTHING with beer in it, that I have a severe allergy to beer and had been sick all night!! I said that information should have been in the description since that is completely different from what normally comes on a Philly cheese steak sandwich. She assured me she would personally change description on the online menu for people with beer allergies. It's been 4 months and she still hasn't changed it!!!! I was VERY sick for 3 DAYS and took another 3 days to recoup!!! I realize they strive to stand out with unique menu items but they don't realize ommiting putting possible allergen information in the description or accurate information is RECKLESS AND DANGEROUS, literally risking the lives of their customers!!! Definitely ask EXACTLY what is included in the food you order here since possible life threatening allergen information is NOT included in the item description on the menu!! Even when I call to point out how sick I had been all night, I was assured it would be changed on the menu so other people wouldn't get sick like I had, THEY COULDN'T EVEN DO THAT!!!! NO, I will NOT go back there! YES. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB!
UPDATE: It's been 5 days since I posted the review above and their own online menu has not been changed!! It states 'delicious cheese sauce' STILL for the Philly sandwich. Her reply states a new menu was printed that week, I wonder if it states 'delicious cheese sauce' as well?!?! But the ONLINE menu she has complete control over, which Cristy 'assured me she would personally change' hasn't been done even after my review!!! I encourage everyone to go to their online menu and see for yourselves it hasn't been changed. All she had to do was go in and insert the word 'beer' so it would read, 'delicious beer sauce' (which 'delicious' is obviously her personal opinion but I, a customer that had the greatest misfortune of tasting, have a polar opposite opinion!!!). She states she wants me to call her to discuss this but when I called months ago she lied to me. Apparently her personal assurance and words are a complete lie, why exactly should I call to talk with her and be lied to even more!?!?!?!
Response: I realize I am to be responsible for my food allergies and I am. BUT plain and simply, 'Who puts BEER cheese sauce on a Philly Cheese?!?!?!?!' NOBODY!!!!!!! Apparently not even you anymore! How do I know to ask if BEER is on my Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich?!?!?!! SERIOUSLY!!!!!! That's why it is VITAL to put the main ingredients on the menu PLUS allergen ingredients! Blaming the customer for YOU putting weird ingredients in your food! Oh sorry, your 'creations'! I don't believe a word of your 'creative' story! You just don't want to look bad in...
Read moreWe went today for brunch. We had 3 adults, 1 baby that needs a high chair, and a toddler. We were seated immediately, but we were told they only had one high chair that was already being used. I asked if we could bring our stroller in, and they said yes. So no big deal, but they really need 1 or 2 more (they only have 2 tables inside that high chairs can be used at). We ordered the picky eater off the kids menu, and I ordered a side of grits for my 2 little ones to share before we ordered our food. Then we ordered the breakfast tacos, breakfast bowl, and the seasonal french toast. We all ordered bottomless mimosas. We sat near the area where they put the food that's ready, and the waitresses kept getting confused at whose food went where. They brought us our kids food plus a French toast off the kids menu and the shrimp and grits. We had to tell them only the picky eater one was ours. We waited for the extra cup of grits, but we never recieved them. We then realized we had no silverware. Our waitress seemed to busy cleaning to come check on us. Finally she came and brought us silverware. Our mimosas tasted like straight orange juice. We joked how we thought there wasn't even champagne in it. We all had three in the course of our meal, and all of them tasted the same, only orange juice. We finally got our food, my breakfast bowl was supposed to come with bacon, but it had sausage. No big deal. She changed it for me. The grits I would say were the best thing. Perfect consistency. The french toast and the tacos were also good. I am breastfeeding and I have test strips to check and see how long I should wait until I nurse again. I checked, no alcohol. I waited 30 minutes to check again, and still no alcohol in my system. So disappointed that we paid for mimosas and got orange juice. If there was any champagne, it was so minimal that didn't register in my system. The food was good, service and drinks not the best. You would have thought it was their...
Read moreI have been to this restaurant before but I do not think I will be back again. The first time I went to this place the service was great and the food was tasty. Today when I went I had to wait approximately an hour for an order of citrus salad, a bowl of chili and some grits with sausage.
I knew there was going to be an issue when I went to place my order. While the woman who took my order was entering it into the kiosk I reached into my pocket and pulled out my payment card. When she turned around I went to hand it to her and she just walked past me, apparently to go make some lemonade. Apparently I wasn't the only one who thought this was odd as the guests who were seated at the table to the left of the entrance even said something under their breathe about it.
Here's the thing that really gets me though, this place is supposedly owned and operated by a Gold Star family. While there is a place for the Fallen Soldier, what really upset me was that among all of the things that could have been placed there to honor our fallen, never in my life have I seen a box fan in the chair as part of that decor.
I imagine the restaurant has a proper store room for such things but I will never know the answer to that as I will never return. High prices and long waits are all part of it, and that I can forgive. As a veteran, I can't forgive that sort of thing.
Also, just to be fair; The woman who took my order did try and make amends for the long wait by offering me a free entrée on my next visit. She said she would have already given me a free entrée from my current ticket but could not because I paid before receiving the food.
Also, I did leave a tip. Tips are normally for good service but I know these times are trying and everyone needs every bit of help they can get and that we must be fair and honest to one...
