I’m writing this review for two reasons neither of which are the food, it was fine, or our server. Fabi, as always, was very good. The first reason was the rest of the staff on this evening. We were seated near the bathrooms with a direct view into the kitchen. Except for Fabi, the staff was goofing off in the kitchen, yelling at each other, cursing, and throwing ice at each other. Several pieces of ice left the kitchen and ended up in the dining room. One piece of ice came to rest about three feet from my seat. The young man who was running the register kept leaving the front to engage the backend staff in the kitchen leaving the front unattended and customers waiting to be seated and/or pay their tab. None of this behavior is acceptable. The second reason I am reviewing this visit is the 18% “Service Fee” you have made the business decision to impose on you customers. This fee should be posted on your door and/or printed boldly on the menu for the customers to be aware of before they order. Imposing an undisclosed fee only to be seen if you read the small print is a car dealership tactic. Using the term “Fee” eliminates the need for a gratuity, but it also eliminates the customer’s forum for appreciating good service or expressing their displeasure for poor service. This practice is your choice to impose a fee on a customer base that is looking for a good meal at a fare price. It is my choice to frequent a different restaurant.

My wife, two kids, and I went to the Village Inn for a birthday breakfast / brunch this morning. Here are a comments. Food- All the food was freshly made and generally great tasting. I had a patty melt with fries and cinnamon apples. There were a few issues, none of which I brought to the waitress’ attention. I asked that the patty be cooked to medium. It was well done. I asked for country potatoes but got fries. Also, the cinnamon apples had 1 smallish apple slice and pieces of a second. My wife got an omelette and pancakes. My son got pancakes and eggs with a sausage while daughter got VIB combo with eggs, biscuit and gravy, and turkey sausage. They all really liked their meals. Service- the waitress friendly. The host was very friendly and very talkative. Whole there was a decent crowd, our food took quite a bit longer than expected to come out. The hostess that seats customers wasn’t all that friendly however. Cost- prices were generally fair for the food with the exception of the cinnamon apples. Location & atmosphere- the atmosphere in the restaurant is friendly and inviting. The restaurant is a bit hidden but GPS will get you there just fine. This is a good breakfast spot and will be a future option for us.

I think it's been a long way coming from finally reviewing this restaurant. First of all the atmosphere and decor going in reminds you of those old family diners from the 50's, the staff is always really friendly and welcoming, good service always. The menu is extensive and it goes from breakfast to dinners going from comfort food to salads and burgers and stuff like that. I ordered the smothered breakfast burrito and it was absolutely packed with flavors, they used to put the pico de gallo on top with sour cream but now they put those items on the side which is smart, you can choose either chicken or pork and inside you'll find pico de gallo, potato bites, jalapeno and eggs, really delicious, my wife had their turkey dinner which it's self explanatory, it comes with mashed potatoes and gravy, my mother-in-law had their strawberry crepes and they really liked their choices and felt satisfied. Also if you go on Wednesdays you get free pie which it's a good deal since their pies are always great.

I came to this location earlier this week with my boyfriend and I don’t eat much so I requested the kids menu at the front which they allowed with no issue. We sat down and when the server came she was immediately rude, saying I can not have the kids menu because it was free today with the purchase of an adult meal. Naturally I would understand but the fact she caused a scene rather than kindly telling me I cannot use the menu was not a very good start. I told her to give me a minute so I could skim the other menu while my boyfriend orders. He finished ordering within a couple of seconds and I still was looking so I told her I am still searching for what I want. I am asked “well can he eat?” What is the point of asking this? Of course he can eat, what say do I have in if he should eat or not? I can understand the meals come out at the same time but there was MULTIPLE other ways to ask this. After about 10 minutes, she comes back and I asked if I could just order it on a separate tab therefore I would be charged. The lady goes “you’re killing me girl.” The disrespect and unprofessional attitude is absurd in a place like this. I did not want to pay $10+ when I couldn’t even finish a kids meal that was $5, which is why I asked when told the only issue is the price. I have no relationship to that lady whatsoever and would never expect to be told “you’re killing me girl.” She goes to the back and says she can do it this once which was kind to ask and I appreciate but if I knew they would’ve made such a big scene I would’ve just not come. After this the cook came out and told me the same exact thing my server had just told me and I heard them chatting in the room about me. Both of these in a harsh tone and very unprofessional, all I requested was a kids meal. If I was told no after the second time I would’ve stopped but she asked and they said yes. To top this all off I ordered the pancake face, I’m not sure the exact name. They gave me no eggs which were included in the face. I am extremely disappointed. I used to come here a couple years ago and loved it, can’t say the same now. Wouldn’t recommend and will not be...

This Village Inn at 22601 FL-54, Land O' Lakes, FL 34639 is one of the worst places that I have ever went to, to enjoy a meal and one time I tried to use my military discount and the management didn't want to give me my military discount until I threatened to call the corporate office and then all of a sudden the management changed they're mind and decided to give me my military discount and I went there for free pie Wednesday and the management told me that they don't give out free pie for people that take out they're food and that I would have to dine in to get a free slice of pie and I don't like to dine in because the service is terrible and I always had been getting free pie on Wednesdays at village inn and I don't like to dine in at this particular village inn because the management and the help are terrible at the village inn that's at 22601 FL-54, Land O' Lakes, FLORIDA 34639 so I called six other village inns and the management said that if I bought and entree that they would give me a free slice of pie on Wednesdays so that let me know that it ain't all village inns with poor customer service it's just the one on 22601 FL-54, Land O' Lakes, Florida 34639 so people if you want better customer service go somewhere else to enjoy your meal. And the general manager who is Ulysses Davis is terrible management so don't expect help from him which means as a customer you're pretty much on your own so don't give this village inn the satisfaction of wasting your time and treating you poorly and just go somewhere else and believe me you will thank me people because I care...

Visit on September 11th 2022. Today was not a good day at Village Inn first the lady at the counter told me it would be 10min wait to sit my family of seven. I went out to my vehicle told my family about the wait and came back in. Took me about 5-6min to do that. After I came back in a party of six that came in behind me is sitting down getting ready to be served. Couple more people came in with party of four's and two's. I finally got up and asked hey what about my party. She said she called my name three times and even came outside to look for me which was a lie cause we were parked in front the door in handicap. After I saw them sitting others I asked to speak to a manager. Magically table got open even though no one left. The waitress was good as usual. We had her wait on us almost every time we go there. The meal was not good like it normally is. The food looked like it sat for a while cause the gravy on the egg started to harden. Went to pay for the entire party. Now this is not the first time eating here, so they normally give me the military discount for the entire check. Today the same lady that I complained to manager about rang me up and only gave me discount on my meal. Now if that was the case I would have had everyone else pull out their military id and get their own discount and paid it for them. Even my mom and pop get senior discount. I will not be eating here again and if I were you I would not either but if you do, don't forget to check your receipt and pay separately so each individual get their discount they earned either for serving or being...
