My wife loves the gluten free & dairy free offerings of this store, but there have been several mistakes with our orders that have left a bad taste in my mouth. In our case, we've left notes on our order that weren't read or were ignored.
I hope that in the future, the employees can slow down and actually read the comments that are left for them. Example: I ordered a Cappuccino on Uber Eats, and the way that Mitchell's has configured their menu, you HAVE to pick whipped cream or a syrup to be added to your drink. It is literally impossible to order a drink that isn't sweetened or has some extras thrown in. No thank you! Please add an option to skip this!
I left a note saying, "PLEASE DO NOT ADD VANILLA SYRUP". My drink arrived flavored of vanilla and was sickeningly sweet. I had to pour it down the drain. I also ordered a bagel, and left a note to please not warm or toast it. The bagel was toasted when it arrived.
We ended up refunding the cappuccino, which was a waste of everyone's time and money, sadly. The bagel was fine, in the end, but it was a bother, as I wanted to save it for later.
We really like the place, and the staff are pleasant to be around, but I really wish we could trust that our order would come as requested, as we're literally having to refund portions of the order after...
Read moreUpdate - to the owners response, like I said in my review, I was offered nothing by the lady behind the counter, so saying that I was offered something was not true. I got a simple "oh, ok." If you would have offered to replace it, I would have not posted this review. I hate wasting money.
This was our third visit, and couldn't be more disappointed. Got the lemon pound cake for the second time, and it was so hard and chewy, it reminded me of trying to chew a fresh piece of hard Bazooka bubblegum like when we were kids. Took it up to the counter to tell the lady there how it was. She said she could warm it up and usually didn't because of the icing. Wouldn't have made a difference anyway. Just told her to take it after the one bite. I know something was wrong with it because I got the lemon pound cake the last visit a few weeks ago and it was really good and soft. Just got a "oh, ok". No apology, no offering to check on anything, nothing at all. Told her I wouldn't be back after that. My girlfriend, who LOVES the hot chocolate from here said it tasted more like warm milk this time around. Not willing to spend $15 on a small piece of pound cake, a fairly bland blueberry muffin and a hot chocolate for it to...
Read moreBeing a small business owner myself, I like to support family owned places. I was next door getting an MRI when I realized this place was next door. Looking at the great reviews I decided to try it.
I wasn't greeted until I was at the counter, no big deal but I recommend it's a good thing to recognize when a customer walks in and say "Welcome." Maybe even asking them if it's their first time in if you don't recognize them.
I had ordered a bagel toasted with cream cheese, a muffin and coffee to-go. The girl asked if I wanted a bag. I was kind of puzzled because who would want to carry those items with coffee also in their hand. I recommend buying smaller bags for single small items like a bagel and muffin if your concerned about paper cost. When I get to my next destination, I realize there is no knive in my bag and the cream cheese comes on the side. VERY disappointing as I had to use my finger. If a plastic knife is something I'm expected to grab (which it shouldn't be on to go orders..)but she could have informed me that I needed one and where to grab it. Bagel didn't seem toasted at all...
