Pretty much done with Vinny's even though I prefer their pizza. We live a very short distance from their location at the base of the bridge - they are within Camachee Island, facing the road in the front storefront area.
The crust is good, sauce decent and toppings have been above average.
But here's the rub... You can't have a pizza place with terrible, awful, horrible delivery timing and likewise bad customer service.
This is the third terrible delivery service.... 1 hour and thirty min and we call to find out if there is a problem.... This time they lost our order... Finally get our order over 2 hours from first call, and.... It's.... Cold in the middle of the pizza... Huh???
Last time they were just slow and food showed up cold. The time before, the order was wrong inverting the request... Light sauce became extra sauce and the extra olives became light olives...they blamed it on a new pizza maker in training.
Don't get me wrong, when they get it right, the crust is very good.... Unfortunately they get it wrong more often than not... And... Can't blame it on summer volume, etc.
The people are pleasant and not rude, nor frustrated or impatient. They seem like they care and I would describe them as kind.
And to be completely fair, I'm not sure if we paid for this or not... We provided payment info on first call but they never asked for it on subsequent calls and driver didn't give my wife opportunity to tip him for his driving portion... So... Dunno.... And lastly, her order was hit and tasty she said.
If I get a craving for their pizza, I'll go there, order it and wait for it.... But honestly, that's not really the pizza...
Read moreVinnys was a place recommended to me by a friend who lives at Vilano. On a cool February afternoon, we decided to drop by and check it out. It sits in an an older strip mall off the main road but experience has taught me that you can never judge a place by the building it sits in. There were a couple of brightly-colored picnic tables out front that we passed before getting to the front door. Vinnys, like many other pizza places seems to try to focus more on the food rather than how good the place looks that makes the food. For that understandable reason, I wont go into much detail about the atmosphere. We ordered our food and within a reasonable amount of time, it arrived. We ordered a supreme. The sauce and crust were pretty good although, this pizza seemed to have some very "heavy" toppings that were prone to falling off the slice if held wrong. I was also not a huge fan of the veggies. The peppers and onions were diced and seemed a little flaccid. Some people may like this but its not my particular cup of tea. All in all, it was a very OK experience. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and took great pride in their food. For that reason alone, Id come back and order a pizza from them again. If Vinnys is a place you want to try on your next visit to Vilano, you wont be...

Absolutely phenomenal. The staff is very friendly and informative. Delivery is also timely. The food is fantastic. We stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago when we were out for a walk and decided to order a few calzones. I must say that they were the best calzones my wife and I have ever had. They were stuffed with plenty of toppings that were fresh and delicious. Huge portion as well.
Today we decided to try the pizza. Wow. SO GLAD we did. This will now become one of our staple places to eat. We ordered a greek pizza and, again, plenty of toppings (banana peppers, green olives, black olives, feta cheese, onions), all that compliment the pizza so well. Also ordered a mac and cheese pizza since I'm, personally, a huge mac and cheese fan. I thought it sounded odd but why not try it? Turned out to be SO good. A small amount of noodles on the top of the pizza with several delicious cheeses all baked to perfection. If you like cheese, you HAVE to try this.
Can't wait to order here again and really happy we have plenty of...
