I’ve never had a bad experience at this Wawa, it’s always relatively clean and an normal experience. Until today. I was accompanied by my sister to buy a lottery ticket, I am of age but I look young. My sister is a minor. But she wasn’t buying anything nor was she holding the ticket. A woman by the name Maria at the cashier asked how old we were, I only said my age because why would my sister who’s a MINOR needs to state her age… ever?? So my sister says “why would my age matter? I’m not the adult.” The woman would not give me my money until she (my sister) said it, even though I had passed my ID. She immediately had an attitude with my sister and began being completely rude unjustly. My sister had asked “what is your attitude for?” And the woman cut her off by yelling for the manger. Both me and my sister were stunned by how unprofessional and disrespectful the woman was being, when we had done nothing to provoke this attitude given as such. Thankfully my mother was also with us so we bring her in to talk to the manger. The manger by the name Hilda was at the beginning a bit on edge towards us, but after hearing the situation she showed more respect and understanding to the situation. Now when my mother came my sister was explaining the situation and Maria had heard her say verbatim “oh because that woman over there-“ and Maria cut her off and said “I’m no woman I’m a ma’am!” (This all took place in Spanish.) with the same crude tone she had when the early situation had occurred. The manger had to step in and said “that’s what we aren’t going to do.” Because even she had seen the unpleasant performance by Maria. The manger had also told us it was “Wawa policy” to get both peoples ID… which doesn’t seem right.. because you can’t legal ask a minor for their ID especially when they aren’t trying to buy the lottery, which was the case here. How would that work. But back to Maria I can’t imagine she is deserving, nor prepared for a job that is essential to have a kind and warm attitude towards your customers. Especially as a cashier. Truly an unpleasant experience. I recommend taking action if this is a constant issue with Maria, having continued to be as rude as she was with me today I’m sure she is not suited for...
Read moreOver the past five years, Orlando has become very similar to South Jersey in the sense that there's now a Wawa nearly everywhere you go in the city. This store is about a mile and a half from the original Wawa that opened five years ago in 2012 across from SeaWorld and I just love that fact that I live a half mile between two Wawa stores, and depending on which direction I'm going in when I leave home or from which direction I'm coming home from, I have two places to get gas, free air if I need to fill my tires, and arguably most importantly.. for a quick breakfast, a lunch, a smaller dinner if I don't want to or can't cook due to a time crunch, and even a perfect late-night snack or meal! So back to this new location--with it being in such a perfect location at the corner of John Young & Central Florida Parkway it is very, very convenient for people driving between the Universal & Sand Lake Area and the Hunters Creek & The Loop area. This obviously means that it's going to be a busy place, which had never been a bad thing for a Wawa in my experience. Since the place opened so recently, it is fresh and clean as any new store would be; the service counter however has a LOT of room for improvement. Last night was my first time at this location. I ordered two Caramel Chocolate Chip Smoothies and a Chicken Salad Shorti-sized Hoagie. The smoothies were great, but my Hoagie was a complete mess... not one thing about it was correct. The individual who made it must have been looking at a different order on the screen. I was overcharged as well--$15 for what usually costs about $9 to $10. I'm not going to complain any further than this comment here so that others who read this know to be weary about what you order from behind the counter. These are new employees who won't get everything correct 100% of the time. CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE! A month from now though I have no doubt that service will be top notch as expected from any other...
Read moreNot too impressed with this Wawa. I love Wawa and go to the one on Orange Ave and Town Center all the time. I went to this new one tonight for gas, coffee, and iced tea. Nothing went right. The iced tea had a bright red sign all the way across the shelf saying 99¢. When I got to the register, they rang $2.19 each. I told her the sign says 99¢. She pointed out the fine print that says 16 oz is 99¢. But there are NO 16 oz on that shelf. And there is NO sign that says the 1/2 gal teas are $2.19. And there is nothing else on that shelf. That's BS false advertising. Move the sign to 16 oz teas, or add one that says $2.19, or put 16oz tea behind it. When we went to make coffee there was No 1/2 and 1/2 creamer. I had to wait for someone to show up, and ask her if they have 1/2 and 1/2. She said yes she just hadnt got to it yet and put out a few. For the gas, I set it to fill and went inside. My tank was almost empty. I have a WaWa credit card and always fill it at the other Wawa without issues. I was pissed about the coffee and tea so I didnt check how much gas had went in before driving a few miles down JYP. The pump had stopped around $4-5. So I Still have an empty tank and have to go tomorrow and fill up again. I can guarantee you it wont be at this Wawa! Do not go here. Nothing but aggravation. I will go back the the one on Orange Ave and Town Center. Never disappointed there. Must be hard to find good managers when...
