Seriously, everyone has to try this place at least once!!! Amazing food, consistently exceeds our expectations and fast service! Ample parking, traffic can be daunting. Small place but can easily accommodate a party of 18 by placing tables together. Always clean! Service from the gentlemen are top notch, efficient and FAST! We always start with apps and kids meals.
Kids Meals - The burgers are juicy and fries are crisp. Nuggets are not dried out -ask for them to not be well done and they deliver.
Drinks- While they bring you drinks - they have a fridge near the back where you can grab another if you want more. The children seem to like this. FYI - No fountain drinks here. All bottles with great selection. But one can get filtered water as well.
APPS - Fried jalapenos, cheese sticks, chicken chunks and hummus. Perfect temp. and abundant.
Grill- The juiciest and tastiest Beef Short Rib - Huge slab of meat! Portuguese BBQ Chicken - So good! Loved the mash potatoes.
Indian Food - Perfect naan. Vindaloo is the number one curry of our choice. Sweet and sour (hint of tamarind??) at the same time. SPICY!! The beef it so succulent. Small curry portions though! Chicken Tikka Masala curry is perfect. Butter chicken is mild enough and very tasty. Biryani is not our favorite here at all (we tried 3 different times) so we stick to the curry.
The best thing by far in the ... Tandoori Chicken (8 piece) So good we buy 2 orders just to take home! GET THIS!!!!
It may seem too casual for a special night out but we still come here as a treat to ourselves because the food is so good and the service is outstanding!!! We have gone in small and big groups and they are always on point. One of the best hidden gems of Orlando !!! These guys are doing it right! Keep it up. All halal for...
Read moreMe, My wife and two children frequently visit Orlando from Ocala. Having been raised in England where you can find outstanding Indian food pretty much anywhere, the same is not true states side. Central Florida boasts an array of Indian restaurants but very few good and even less outstanding ones. Since we found Charcoal Zyka a month ago, we have driven down an hour to Orlando from Ocala four times already. The food is OUTSTANDING!!!. Aesthetically, it's certainly not top notch however the staff are absolutely focused on customer service and their friendly nature and willingness to serve really sets this place apart. The currys are cooked fresh to order and the quality of the end product is comparable to some of the very good indian restaurants in the UK. The food is not loaded with sugar, butter and creams and the combination of spices they use are spot on. The prices in my opinion are waaay to cheap. For this quality of food I would charge a lot more. Sorry if i'm ruining a good thing, but I believe people should be compensated fairly and I'd definitely pay more for this type of food. I would recommend getting your curries medium and not hot as their hot is reeeeeally hot (although that's what I get and love it). The naan bread is fresh and tasty and the samosas are very good. One of my kids doesn't really care for Indian food and has had a burger and Portuguese style chicken and both have been great. Beef Curry, Lamb Jalfrezi and the Biryani are the dishes we have sampled so far and all are AMAZING. I highly recommend this restaurant...you wont...
Read moreThere's literally a hole in the wall. We were at the Ritz and want to try someth different and close, so Indian sounded delicious. Well it was disgustingly disappointing. The only dish that was decent was the lamb. The butter chicken (which was stated as not spicy, but came out way hott) looked like shredded carrots in sauce and their grille chicken was sOO dry, my son couldn't even bite it.. They threw rice for both entrees in the same takeout box and it was a pathetically dry portion for each quart of entree, which were nearly 12&15$ each. Garlic naan was good though. But what made us never ever want to return for a second try was their gross bathrooms. My son couldn't even bring himself to pee in there & thats pretty bad for a boy to have hesistations about a public restroom! Oh and NO HOT water at the sink. EW, what does that say about the staff washing their hands?
Young dudes working were mellow though, but that Asian kid didn't know a single thing on the menu and the Indian kid with glasses was rude when we mentioned how the butter chicken wasn't suppose to be spicy. At least he gave us a piece of grille chicken to make up for it but he clearly picked one that he didn't mind giving away. It was burnt, hard and ridiculously over cooked. Poor bird. I've been spoiled with places like Taste of India, so i guess we'll second guess our picks next time. Sad, sounded like an...
