After hearing how amazingly delicious their chicken and infamous Zaxby's sauce was. Even going so far to say that it rivaled my favorite (hands down my beloved Chick fil a). I gave in. The space is unappealing, poorly lit and poor choice of interior decor.
As I perused their overpriced menu, I decided to use their restroom. I had to ask the girl at the counter three times where it was as she stood there straight faced and ignored me. She rudely replied, its over there, like I was supposed to know where it was. I was ready to leave right then.
The bathroom was filthy. The ADA bathroom was not useable. The individual light was out and there was toilet paper all over the toilet seat. There were no paper towels. Assuming people do wash their hands to have to use the knob to get out of the bathroom without one was a challenge. I couldn't tell you the last time that bathroom was cleaned and sanitized.
Since I was unfamiliar with them I let my friend order. He loved their sauces so much. He ordered 2 extra chicken only plates and one extra sauce. They only gave him 2 sauces he was entitled to 3 or was it 2 per chicken only platters....🤔🤔🤔 when you are changed for the sauces it matters. Their coleslaw should be discontinued. It was flavorless. The chicken was overcooked, dry and hard to bite. It was freshly dropped. I did like the fries and the unnecessary Texas Toast. The overall price you pay is not worth it. Stick with Chick-fil-A.

I found the choices somewhat limiting and Lord help you if you are in anyway feeling health conscious. Every meal seemed to be a slightly different take on battered fried chicken with the only real variety coming from which starch you wanted to accompany it.
I get that this is the kind of food they serve, but it just came off as though every choice had to include over-buttered and over-fried bread or french fries. It was just incredibly bland and uninspired. Again, I understand this is what some people like, but I found nothing to separate it from walking into the local convenience store and purchasing battered chicken with a slice of bread.
The restaurant itself was clean enough, but it did have a very dated feel to it with its decor which in turn gave it the feel of a corner store fish and chips shop rather than a place you would want to sit...
Read moreLast visit to Zaxby's. Kids wanted Chick-fil-A - Zaxby's is marginally more convenient, so I persuaded them to go there - and that is where we will be going next time. When you order a 5-pc chicken tender meal for $8.49, I expect at least two sauces (you get one with a 3 pc meal, so for the extra $2.50, you could at least include an extra sauce). McDonalds, you get as many as you want. Chick-fil-A, you get as many as you want. Culver's, you get as many as you want. Every chain restaurant I know of in the USA, you get as many as you want. Not Zaxby's though. Evidently Zaxby's philsophy of charging 25 cents per sauce above one is not working well for you, as restaurant was empty (only four people there while we were at the restaurant, one of whom was complaining about you screwing up his order and not giving him sauce as well). And it is because you are charging for that sauce that we will not be coming back, on principle. Really...
