This place was Goofy as all get-out! Some friends and I tried it a few years ago, and the service was terrible! They brought out one dish at a time. We had a group of about seven people so we were there for a couple of hours just waiting for people to get their food. We thought we'd give it another try thinking maybe they just had a bad day. So we went for lunch. Nothing has changed! They still brought us out one dish at a time. They served the first person at our table and then about 10 minutes later they would serve another person and then about ten minutes after that they would serve another person so on and so on. Our waitress was very nice. It was not her fault. It's the cook. Whoever is doing the cooking is only cooking one dish at a time. I have never had that experience at any restaurant in my life! They've always brought the whole tables food out at the same time so we can all enjoy our meal together. I ordered the fried rice. It looked fantastic. The Taste on the other hand, was horrible! Very very Bland. And the so-called steak meat in it was so extremely tough and chewy I could not even eat it. I'm not sure if that was even steak to be honest with you I don't know what kind of meat it was, but I think it had been around for a long time! We were the only ones in the place so they can't say that they were busy and that's why they brought out one plate at a time. When we were there before it was the same, we were the only ones in the place so there was no excuse to cook our food one every 10 minutes. Also, someone in our party ordered tea. When he got it, it was horrible. The waitress must have known because she came over and told us that she was making a new batch and that it would be better. Why she would serve it knowing it was bad is beyond me? So she brought over a fresh tea. He said it was a little better but it was still terrible. So I'm not sure what's going on with the tea. She was nice enough to take it off of the bill. Save your money and go somewhere else. I would not recommend this...
Read moreI have to admit that I have known about this place for quite a while and just never gave it a chance. I now regret that mindset greatly. I've just had one of the best meals that I've had in a long time.
But let's back up and go over the basics. First off, if you're looking for "Take-out Chinese Food", you're looking in the wrong place. This place offers the oddest combo of American, Mexican, and Vietnamese good I've ever seen. Honestly though, you're cheating yourself if you get the American or Mexican dishes. These are just there for the picky eaters. The real treasure here is the genuine Vietnamese food. I can can say that I've had the pleasure of eating at several Vietnamese restaurants, but to have this gold mine in Florissant is a real treat.
The atmosphere is an odd combo of Asian and Sports Bar. It has a cozy feel, thats a bit hard to describe. Not fancy for sure.
The wait staff were very friendly and helpful. My soda stayed full the entire time. They were a little slow from time to time, but not to the point where I felt like I was forgotten.
The food!!! OMG, my wife and I were taking turns eating a bite from our dish and then just sighing in happiness. I was genuinely sad when I ran out, but that's probably for the best because the helpings are generous.
Needless to say, I'll be...
Read moreThe three of us went there for lunch today after hearing good reviews. They do not disappoint!! Kathi was a very nice server.. thank you! The food portions are pretty big! We were all stuffed! Very authentic Vietnamese food but you don't have to go to downtown St Louis to get it. The non Vietnamese food was also really good! They customized a chicken sandwich for my picky son who wanted to combine the Buffalo spicy chicken with the cheese and bacon from the other chicken sandwich.. it was so big he wasn't sure how to pick it up (he's 13)! If you want it extra spicy/hot.. just ask when ordering! "Spring rolls" with peanut sauce were the best I've had in a long time. (I wanted to take a picture, but by the time I remembered, I had already eaten them lol) We look forward to going back to this family owned restaurant.
