We're so happy to have Indian Delight Flowood a nice dine-in Indian restaurant here in Flowood. We made reservations for two a little after 6pm, and so glad that we did because the restaurant started to fill up quick by 7pm. We were greeted with a smile and promptly seated.
Our go to dish at most Indian restaurants are the mixed tandoori grill, paneer Tikka Masala, butter chicken, and garlic naan but they had something called bullet naan so we ordered that instead.
Tandoori mixed grill came out on a sizzling platter, if you don't know what that is it's marinated meats cooked in a clay oven, it was absolutely delish!! The chicken was so juicy and tender, this is the first time we've seen tandoori fish, that was so good, we spoke about even getting it all fish next time because it was just that good. The bullet naan was topped with chili's and Jalapeños, it had a nice heat to it, I enjoyed the little sweat we got.
Both of their curries were also good! So if you're a first timer, try these dishes we ordered, I think they're great starter dishes for anyone who is new to having Indian food. All entrées comes with basmati rice, basmati can often be dry, but this was some of the most fluffiest basmati rice we've had. Now you gotta save room for dessert and get their dessert sampler, there's a little bit of everything.
Overall great experience, staff were wonderful, our server was very attentive. The place is spacious, cozy and is great for a romantic dinner. Welcome to Flowood Indian Delight! Included the...
Read moreI really advice these guys not to host any more buffet. They could not serve the "real" Indian food that they used to serve when they were just hosting the Ala Carte-based service. The chicken in the Biriyani and other items in the Christmas Buffet (hosted on December 26th) appeared to be repeatedly reheated and it had the typical cardboard-like slightly stale chicken smell that we are so used to eating at the other Indian restaurants in the Jackson area. Also, some of their staff were rude during the buffet; I understand it might be due to the work pressure they are facing with the long queues and the urgency to fill the food in the buffet.
I am so pained to give them a One-star for the Christmas Buffet and the service. I hope they take this in the positive context. Just hold only the Ala Carte-based service with the same price menu. We love you as a Welcome addition to the list of Indian restaurants in the Jackson area and we don't want your brand name to come down because of the buffet. There are other Indian restaurants in the area that serve the typical Indian buffet food.
We love your customized Ala-Carte high-quality food at Indian Delight and that's what this customer is suggesting you to keep maintaining for.
Again, apologies for the low rating. It is just with a hope that the service and food quality will stay as it used to...
Read moreFinally got to try out the newest addition to the list of Indian/South Asian restaurants in the greater Jackson area. We enjoyed both the food and the ambiance.
The colorful decor and the wall art provides glimpses of the rich historical, culinary and cultural heritage of India. I was also a fan of their playlist.
The assorted veg platter with onion pakodas, samosas, spring rolls and papdi chaat was fantastic. All of the offerings had an authentic taste, especially the papdi chaat. We also tried the Lamb Vindaloo and the Goat Biriyani. The vindaloo was savory and the right amount of spicy (had to ask for a higher level of spice). The spices were well assimilated into the gravy, which didn't have an excessively greasy texture. The goat biryani was surprisingly good, and might be the best biryani currently available in the area. It was prepared in a somewhat North Indian style, but had a unique signature.
The servings were generous and we had leftovers. The only odd thing about the experience was being served bottled water without any glasses. The servers were pleasant, friendly and efficient.
We would love to return to try out some of the other offerings on the menu, and hope that they will have a buffet option...
