I had made reservations for my daughters birthday . With an employee name Maddie. When I got to Shogun. And let them know the time of my reservation the lady looked in the book and told me my name wasn’t on there. I told her that I had made a reservation for my daughters birthday with Maddie and that my party of people were coming. She said I had to wait she had to take care of her Customer’s wait wait?? What the heck are we!! One of the ladies was very rude. The so called manager was apologizing . I told her it wasn’t my fault Maddie didn’t do her job. That my party of people were on their way. The so called manager said for us to wait until 7:30 and that she would seat us at the hibachi. I was very upset that my daughter and family had to wait. We did wait. 7:30 came and the lady that was very rude told my daughter that we couldn’t sit there. My daughter said I didn’t make the reservation my Mom did. The rude lady started yelling with her hands up and pushed. one of my daughters . I got very upset and went and told the manager about it .she looked at her employee and smiled like it was funny. The rude lady kept on yelling shaking her hands angry .( SHE SHOUlD NOT BE WORKING THERE ) with that kind of violent temper. And for the big Asian guy to come out looking at us with his arms crossed. Did not intimidate me at all. It took me everything not to jump over the counter that she was hiding in back of Still yelling . My daughter came up to me and said let’s go we can spend our money else we’re . I give this place a below ZERO. This reason I had to press one star is to get on here. We felt really discriminated by them. I highly recommend the place next door (MEXICAN GRILL). Their food was very good . And they were...
Read moreUpon receiving my “grilled” teriyaki chicken while attending my son in laws birthday celebration dinner this evening, I was bothered that it indeed was not grilled but was simply cuts of bland tasting baked chicken! I brought this to the attention of our waitress and was immediately told with a loud and very rude reply that it was grilled just the same as what was grilled on the griddle in front of us! I disagreed and said no, it’s not grilled and it’s not browned as grilled chicken is as well as not seasoned! The cook joined in with her as they both were very loud and very rude to me saying that it’s the same...which it defiantly was not! I refused the order and was asked if I wanted another choice to which I replied that I had lost my appetite and did not! The chef at our table continued to tell me that next time I’ll know what to order.....I replied that there WONT BE A NEXT TIME! A home made apple pie was brought by the guest of honors mother in law and the same waitress cut and served it, or should I say mangled it into many pieces of each serving! This whole dinner was such a disgrace! I was very upset the rest of the evening and will never ever return to Shogun restaurant In Folsom and will advise...
Read moreThis review is for their sushi and not their hibachi. We ordered a "sashimi" and the waiter brought out a "sushi mix b". My boyfriend and I aren't the type to make a huge scene about these things, and we hate wasting food, so we were just going to eat it anyway - but when we mentioned something to the server, she kind of just brushed it off. We can totally see where this was just a product of miscommunication, but we didn't even get an apology. We then later saw that she was speaking to the other servers who were all looking at our table. Not quite sure what that was about? Our server never brought it up again or even tried to seek clarity about what happened.
The fish was also not very fresh. The nigiri in sushi mix b was a bit smelly and came out warm. Not warm like it was pressed by a hand and the body heat transferred, but more like it was sitting out - warm. Either that or the sushi chef had really, really warm hands...
I wanted to like it so much, but don't think I will be eating sushi...
