Update at the end- Oasis restaurant is a family dinner style place. We really wanted to like it . Unfortunately it was bit of a let down. We had hoped for the sunday breakfast buffet but apparently it is not all day and instead ends at noon . We came after that time , so we needed to decide what to get. Some of us had breakfast some chose lunch. The food was OK. Not awesome. Not terrible . We were charged full price , which is normal , but we did not receive three items we ordered and piad for , despite asking the waitress for them. By the time she even came back to our table we were finishing up and getting ready to leave , and they weren't very busy .We decided to not waste the time it would take to even mention that we did not receive our full order. I dont know that we will return here. This was our second time here , the first was about the same experience. Maybe we will give them another shot and try that breakfast buffet. Maybe not. Not sure. If we do , I will update this review with our new experience. Update , we have returned. Our son played a game in fondulac so we needed to find a breakfast spot. We recalled the place and figured a quick breakfast couldn't be too bad right? Well it was a Saturday morning and we hit the breakfast buffet finally, three times the charm right? We did get the breakfast buffet and while it is not a huge selection, what they did have pretty good. Scrambled eggs , scrambled eggs with ham and veg. Hash browns, fruit, salad, French toast is what I had. I know they had a few other choices. Wasn't bad. I don't know if we will return but that's what I said twice already lol. This place isn't bad a small diner place to eat. I will add one more star because even though it is not our favorite place we keep returning for some...
Read moreI typically like oasis. I would order at least 1x a month but usually more. But they kept forgetting items, I would casually mention it and there was no sense of urgency about it. Not even an apology. After the 5th/6th time I finally said something while picking up my forgotten entree... Anna has a terrible attitude if things don't go her way, I complained because she took my phone order and didn't enter in one of the entrees. When she clearly repeated it all back to me everything was correct, when I got there she claimed I didn't order it. The "owner" (let's face it, that restaurant is older than he is) was right next to us when it happened and didn't step in when Anna got out of line... I asked her how much was the entree she missed so we could pay for it and leave, she responded while rolling her eyes "you order it every time, don't you know already???"
Ive never had a problem with the older Hispanic mother or the young daughter who hosts. But Anna and the unconcerned owner is the reason I will not be returning. I will really miss the salsa and tamales that I got from them, it was so nice for that woman(I wish I asked for her name) to offer those for me to buy. I love supporting small business, especially Hispanic businesses. Its unfortunate that a solution couldn't be worked out after several times of me driving back to pick up items they forgot(sides of bacon or sausage, sauces or salsa that are only sometimes included and sometimes not, whole entrees several times, pieces of pie) plenty of items i paid for but never went back to get. But they couldn't even offer to comp out the meal they forgot to pack. I did get offered a small discount. But due to the way I was treated I didn't think...
Read moreThe girlfriend and I decided to try a new place for breakfast and experiences like this make us love our tried and true selections even more.
We were seated quickly, and drinks were brought quickly. Our server never introduced themselves and had an issue with eye contact; none was ever made.
The girlfriend ordered a 2x4 and was able to sub a waffle for the pancakes, which is very nice and a side of potatoes with chicken gravy. I got the bacon & cheese omelette with white toast and hash browns. The food was brought out pretty quick sadly the only thing that was warm, not hot, was my omelette. The girlfriends bacon and sausage were cold, eggs over easy were luke warm, potatoes were room temp, the waffle was cool and the syrup was downright cold. My toast didn't even melt the butter that was in between the slices. The omelette was OK and the only part that seemed spot on was the hash browns. The meal was a letdown considering this place is rated 4.5 stars when we checked it out.
I suspected that everything in the meal was waiting on my omelette to finish but I wasn't paying attention to the kitchen/warmer after we ordered. I did start watching and about 5 minutes before we leave I noticed three plates get put up, they were still there when we paid and left. The final break was as we got change the server that was waiting for the three plates under the warmer proceeded to put the french toast plate in the microwave and warm it up that way. It shouldn't of surprised me after our lackluster meal but it does explain a lot.
If I want to spend $20 for a mediocre breakfast I'll go to McDonalds at least that food will be...
