Saturday (04/06), I was referred to this establishment by a coworker. I looked at the reviews and was under the impression that I would have a great meal and have satisfaction. I was excited to find that they served ribs, I even seen a review specifically about them and was thrilled. My supervisor and I placed out orders over the phone with out a problem. He ordered the Philly cheese steak egg roll, and sandwich with fries. I ordered the rib plate with mac and cheese and fries. I was told the food would be ready in 15 minutes, which I found exceptional.
Upon arriving to the restaurant, I was impressed by the environment. Total vibe! If I was not at work I would have stayed and had a few drinks. My checkout was easy and my order was already for me to take. My total came out to $51.84.
I was given four pieces of rib (a corner piece, a single rib, and two ribs uncut.). The single rib was tender enough for me to eat, however the other pieces were extremely tough, and It was hard to bite into or chew. The mac and cheese was flavorful but very dry. I was not creamy at all. THE FRENCH FRIES DISGUSTING! Some were either extremely undercooked, or extremely overcooked. My supervisor enjoyed his meal except his fries were just as bad as mine.
I felt it was right to call, and let them know about my dissatisfaction of my meal. I spoke with Brandon, he said that he helps the owner with a lot of tasks, but he does not hire or fire anyone, and advised me that he could help. The first statement that I made to him is that I WAS NOT LOOKING FOR COMPENSATION, A REMAKE, OR REFUND FOR MY MEAL. Simply, I wanted to let them know about my experience before I left a review. I provided him the same information that is aforementioned. Brandon proceeded to apologize and offer for me to return on the following evening and he was ensure that I receive a better meal. He instructed for me to call him, give him about 30 minutes, and I could pick the food up.
The following day (04/07), I called to speak with Brandon about the meal he promised, no one answered. I was ready to give this restaurant another chance because I love black owned businesses. Again, I was not looking for any replacement meal or refund. Even as I write this review I am still not. However being that I was not compensated as promised, I felt I needed to share this experience. Will I return, I am not entirely sure...
Read moreI recently visited Xhale Bar & Grill in Forest Park, GA, on two separate occasions, and my experiences were quite different. The first visit was a delightful surprise! I ordered the chicken wings and was thrilled with the large, meaty wings, specifically requesting all flats. They were flavorful, and I couldn’t resist indulging in about 20 wings shared with my partner. The macaroni and cheese was decent—perhaps pre-cooked, but it was still enjoyable. The fried okra was okay, though it could have been better, and I was disappointed to find only packaged ranch dressing instead of homemade.
However, my second visit was a major letdown. I ordered the chicken wings again, specifically asking for all flats. To my dismay, the wings brought to my table were mostly drums. When I informed the manager, he suggested I share the drums with my partner while he brought me five flats. I declined since the majority were drums, and while he eventually brought out all flats, they were disappointingly small with barely any meat. To make matters worse, the Exhale sauce was cold, and the fries were undercooked, with some pieces just being raw potato.
On the bright side, my partner enjoyed his fish and broccoli, but my experience was overshadowed by the disappointment. Given how great my first visit was, I had high hopes for the second, but it fell short. It’s disheartening to pay full price for wings with hardly any meat and served cold. I’m hesitant to return after this experience, as nothing is worse than being left unsatisfied after a meal you were looking forward to.
Also to make matters worse, the second visit when I was brought the wrong order with the drum wings instead of the all flats, the manager asked my partner what flavor wings he had and he advised him that he didn’t even order wings. He had fish instead, so he took our order Without writing anything down and brought out the wrong thing and didn’t even put my partners order in for the fish.
You can tell the difference in the wings from the videos posted as well as the fries the undercooked fries, where the...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was dead like a ghost town with dusty chairs and no energy. The staff was unprofessional and acted like serving us was a burden rather than their job. On top of that, the food was downright unpleasant. It looked sloppy, tasted worse, and honestly made me question how sanitary the kitchen could possibly be.
I ordered 8 egg rolls and the order came all the way home, WRONG. I immediately brought it to the darkskin guy that’s always working their attention. He had no sense of care, I felt like he was playing in my face the entire time (insulting my intelligence). And instead of getting the order right as a complimentary because it was wrong on his behalf. Not only did he not care I also still had to pay $9 more for the screw up because he claimed he gave me a refund on the order without me asking for it. (See attached picture for the so called 8 egg rolls that was purchased for $19 +$9 more dollars because i’m still waiting currently for this “refund” i was told that will be issued.
What really pushed me over the edge was how cheap the restaurant was with portions and quality, yet they still had the nerve to charge outrageous prices. It felt like we were paying for scraps, and nothing about the experience was worth the money. Between the sickening food, the rude service, and the lifeless atmosphere, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Do yourself a favor and eat literally...
