I watched some of the worst customer service take place, FROM MY CAR, while my husband went in to pick up our order. Let’s start from the beginning:
I call an order in at 8:58pm - they close at 10pm. The employee doesn’t ask my name, phone number, give me an estimated time to come pick it up, or a total. And I can hear him ask his manager if they’re doing pickups still. (Why wouldn’t they be?) I chalk it up to the kid being new, and go up to their shop about 10min later thinking that should be around enough time for them to make a small pie and a sub.
My husband goes inside to pick the order up, and of all three employees in the shop, none of them greet him. One walks past him, and the other two come up to the register and don’t even acknowledge him - from what he says, they were too busy bitching about their shift. I watch what looks like the manager throw his apron off and walk outside through the back, obviously for a much needed break. At about 9:20pm one of the employees turned off the open sign. All in all, we didn’t get our 12” cheese pizza and meatball sub until about 9:30pm. We get home and the pizza is room temp and sub is scorching - they obviously forgot the sub.
Two other customers cycled through there while we waited, IT WAS NOT BUSY. There is no reason for this poor level of service. I work in training and customer service for a retail company here in a Fort Collins and if I ever saw something like this happen in one of our stores, I’d be so disappointed in myself for failing to properly train our staff, and I would understand why a customer would be upset.
If the owner is reading this, figure out who was working at your Drake shop during the close shift tonight (5/1/18) and do something. Talk to the employees, train them better, fire them - DO SOMETHING - or your business will fail. People should not work in a service industry if they can’t comprehend the basics of customer service, and not one of those...
Read moreLast night, my girlfriend and I ordered two calzones and an order of cannolis for pickup. The order was ready exactly when they said it would be, and every employee that was there smiled at me and made eye contact with me (super rare these days). All the employees seemed to be happy and enjoy their jobs, which says a lot about a business in my opinion.
The calzones were very flavorful, and my Filipino girlfriend, who had never even tried a calzone before, even remarked on how good the bread/dough was. Same thing for the cannoli’s, “perfecto”. We will most definitely be returning, and are excited to try their pizza and some of their other menu items. I also found the prices to be fairly reasonable, considering the quality and authenticity of the food.
In addition to all this, I did a little research on the company and found out that the Drake location opened in 1991, the year I was born. There are A LOT of food chains these days, especially in Fort Collins, and I was impressed to find out this business is still owned by the original owner.
The other locations they have, in Lafayette and Loveland, are owned by a family member, which is also very rare. Keep up the good work! Thank you for a...
Read moreI have visited this location 3 times in the past and every time the food was great but my orders were always completely wrong. On the 3rd visit, when they couldn't even get my vegetarian friend her order without meat on it...twice I spoke to the manger letting her know about the problems we have had. We then waited another 30 minutes for the correct calzone to be made and my first to actually show up, this time mine was wrong. I then spoke to the manager again her only reply was "I've been in the business 30 years and I can see by the look on your face that nothing I do will make a difference." I told her all I wanted was for my order to be right and she walked away acting as if I was wrong to want such a thing. I am fairly forgiving at restaurants and have a general 3 strike rule and will allow for a couple bad experiences before refusing to return to an establishment, butI can honestly say I cannot recommend spending your hard earned money at this establishment until competent staff and a new...
