Please read this review. I apologize it is so long. I waited for a month to write this because the terrible experience at Simmer left me very shaky and upset. I reserved 2 booths to have a small family celebration remembering my mother who had passed away. This is after a funeral and after a memorial, so it was to be only a small private family dinner. I made the reservation two weeks in advance for 6 people, but more were invited.The manager was very grumpy and said we could make a reservation, but our party in one booth could not talk to my brothers and sisters in the other booth because it is a busy area for the restaurant. Even though that was an outrageous requirement, we agreed to it. We reserved the two booths, but by the time of the event, we had 8 and possibly 9 people. I called in two to three days ahead of time to change the number of people to 8. They did not make the change, so I had to call again. To test the place, I ate there twice to try the food. I called them 3 times, I emailed them 2x, all to make sure it would work. We got there 10 minutes early and the manager said we could not eat in the booths because they had filled one of them. Only one booth was available and he said we could add a table. In fact, they had put a mother and father and small child into one of the booths, thereby eliminating our reservation altogether. Since this was a sad event for us, it was outrageous that the manager did this. He did not apologize and just wanted to spread us around the restaurant in other tables. I sent a two-page letter to the owner of Simmer describing this mess, and waited for one month for him to respond, which he didn't. Because our reservation was impossible, we had to leave and go elsewhere to eat, thereby spoiling our remembrance dinner. As mentioned, a month later I am still shaking by the attitudes and disregard of the people at Simmer. Read moreQuite possibly, the most extraordinary eating out experience we have ever had ! From the moment that we walked into the restaurant, we were treated as kings and queens ! Our waiter, Kyle, treated us as though we were the most important people in the world. Our party of 12 enjoyed being spoiled by him every minute. He has a wonderful sense of humor, ran his two legs off for each of us, made sure that everything was spot on ! The food was incredibly delicious. We have eaten at the Broadmoor restaurant in Colorado Springs, and Simmers tops this five star resort both in taste and quality of food as well as the service. Kyle is TOP NOTCH ! He went well beyond his call of duty to make sure the my son enjoyed a very special birthday, thanks to the extra effort put forth by this young fellow. Be sure to ask for his table if you go to Simmers. You won't be sorry. The food (the sweet potato waffles and buffalo cauliflower wings were AMAZING !!!) They have a very unusual away from the main stream menu...great drinks and the service just doesn't get any better. It's so nice to go to a restaurant and not feel like you are just another warm body sitting there. These people do it PERFECTLY !!!! Read moreEdit: Wow.. 3 years later and a new review. I guess the saga continues! Once upon a time when this place started we had a few hiccups, but management was great at handling it. Fast forward to today... I'm honestly extremely happy to change this review to 5 stars!
Service was really on point. Personal touches and recommendations. Absolutely showed they cared from the start to the end. Even had a chance to speak with some of the other staff that exceeded all expectations and showed a level of touch that was above and beyond. Lauren was just a rockstar unquestionably.
Everything we had to eat or drink showed a level of what this place is about / has become and really it IS IMPRESSIVE and worthy of the 5 stars it now gets.

Excellent food, atmosphere, and value. Really sub par service however. I do understand things can get crazy in the food service industry...
No refill for almost the entire meal, food brought out by another server (not a good sign..), and no follow up after our food was brought out. Several simple requests could have made the experience on point.
I hope I just caught these guys on an off moment. I very much want to like this place. Will consider stopping back in to see, and update my review.
