I really wanted to love this place, but today was a miss for us. We were really excited to go here, but we found it frustrating.
First parking was tough. Not their fault, but it was tricky to find a spot. When we got in, we ordered like normal and the staff was friendly.
The drinks were really on point. Very good. But we waited for about 20 mins for our food when I went and asked how it was coming along. They missed our order and got it in. We get it, mistakes happen. They weren’t that apologetic about it, but got our order in.
Since we were now going to be running late to our meeting, we decided to order the food to go, planning to eat in the car. When they gave us the food, they didn’t have anyway of eating it (breakfast bowl). No to-go spoons or forks.
The food, drinks, and tip were close to $50 and we were very hungry by now, so without any options, we decided to stay there and eat and inevitably show up late to our meeting.
Then when it came time to bus our table, we couldn’t figure out where to put our dirty dishes and compost bin for left over food scraps because it’s a zero waste place. There’s instructions written on garbage cans and no where marked for dirty dishes. It was just all poorly marked and confusing.
And the food was pretty average flavor-wise. The “secret sauce” didn’t have much flavor to it either.
Just after being made late for our meeting waiting for bland food and not being able to figure out how to clean up after ourselves when we were in a hurry - it was all just frustrating.
Good place for maybe a quick coffee stop. But I don’t...
Read moreA rejuvenating little corner of FoCo, and one of the best coffee/pastry shops I've been to...ever. Coffee is 12/10, and their espresso-based drinks are well crafted (not too sweet!). They have lots of unique (and amazing) flavors too! Sage, Lavender, Rosemary, and Vanilla. All milks are dairy free (oat, almond, soy), and you can also get bulk beans here to grind at home!
The decor is also so well done, which is much appreciated when using as an out-of-home office! There are a few tables to work at, great wifi, and great lighting. They also have some local artists / vendors that sell products here...plus a little clothes rack for reselling clothes and a secret library!
Overall just an incredible place, with such a cozy vibe and unique concept of zero waste. Plus staff is always so friendly! If you haven't been, you need to go. ~$5-6 for a latte, but I promise it's worth it, & you're contributing to an incredible shop working to make your morning coffee more eco-conscious.
Recommended Items (not much I can't recommend here):
Food: The morning glory muffin is absolutely killer, and the cinnamon roll is SO good.
Drink: Best lavender matcha I've ever had. Also love the lavender latte...
Read moreWe were passing through Ft. Collins and really liked the concept and name of this coffee shop so we decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately this just wasn’t that great for us.
The lemon tart latte was extremely bitter tasting rather than lemon tart tasting. I’ve had a similar taste of that bitterness before when having bad espresso in the past. The salted maple cold brew was extremely heavy handed on the salt. It was as if a whole container of basic Morton table salt was dumped into the drink which overpowered the cold brew and maple.
The vegan burrito was decent but had a couple of hard bits inside of it that my girlfriend had to take out. For me, the egg sandwich was advertised as over easy eggs but both of them were fried and no yolk running. A handful of greens were tossed on and the pesto spread was more of a dab of pesto on one half of the sandwich.
Finally, I love places that display and sell local art but placing stickers and postcards and other objects just a few feet from the toilet in a coffee shop is pretty disgusting. You know some unfortunate soul has blown that toilet up and gotten fecal particles all over those trinkets just an arms...
