I was hopeful about this place after some of the reviews. Unfortunately, it was a mistake to go there. It appeared clean enough, until I used the restroom. Ugh. There was a horrible urine smell and a dead bug on the back of the toilet. But, okay, fine. I'm not eating in the bathroom. After getting back to my table, I tried that complimentary chips. They were really good. The accompanying "salsa" turned out to be basically spicy ketchup water. The tamale I ordered was pretty standard. It had shredded pork and a plain corn exterior without sauce. It was very good! That's basically where the fun stopped. The margaritas were huge. When we asked for a margarita, they brought out the 60 oz bowl filled with the most sugary orange juice tasting liquid mixed with what had to be the most bottom shelf tequila. This concoction was drinkable after the ice melted. For $15, it would have been nice to know there were many other margarita choices. Now add in beans obviously from a can, cold rice, and tacos that hardly had enough meat between the three to make one full taco! My friend ordered the Mindy. A friendly word of advice - just don't. It was a trio of meat swimming in what was likely jarred alfredo sauce with cumin added. Come on people! Get it right! The bill came while we were still picking at our food. Though the sign said they are open on Saturdays until 10, the friendly waiter turned enforcer offered to take our half full margaritas at 9:20, then again at 9:30. After such a dismall dinner, we figured we'd at least drink up. Nope. He came back at 9:40 and 9:45. I finally asked if they weren't open until 10 as the sign said. He replied with sometimes, sometimes not. I was so put off that I just told him that I was tired of being harassed and we left. After spending $75 for two, I would have thought they would let us finish our drinks in the last few minutes. Horrible service, HORRIBLE food. Will...
Read moreExtremely dissatisfied. Possibly judgemental. Penny pinched down to $1.95 for a side of limes! Only one basket of chips is offered with not even enough salsa to dip them in. Want more? Expect to pay for it. Rice and beans are not included. We had to get up and walk over to the host 3 times to ask for waters, hot sauce, and finally to ask for our bill. Our waitress was not attentive at all, the restaurant had maybe 4 tables and 4 employees on the floor. The other waitresses saw us waving our hands and ignored us. The plates were small with little flavor.
We had originally come here to taste test the difference between dark and light tequila. We were told that they only had Don Julio which is not true. There are two different shot prices $7 and $10. The dark tequila went down smooth And believed to be Don Julio but the white shot was awful, not smooth at all. We didn't see them pour it but it seems similar to some jose I drank in high school. We were still charged the $10, $40 in shots total. I'll never return here. Plenty of other amazing options...
Read moreSome girlfriends and I went here for a birthday lunch! We ordered mojitos and they came without mint, when we asked for mint she said they don’t do that there and wouldn’t let us trade for a different drink. Said we had to pay for it even though it’s not what we ordered and was very rude about it. I then asked for shredded mozzarella and she said they don’t have that so I asked for shredded cheese on the side. She brought out queso with our chips. At the time to pay she charged me for the queso that I didn’t ask for I told her I asked for shredded cheese. She said she would take it off but asked that we don’t come back. Very rude service from Mari. 10/10 wouldn’t recommend. Only went because Lomitas was packed and now I see why Tres Amigos only had...
