I was craving some bbq and brisket so we were in the area and decided to try this place out. Huge mistake. Customer service was great but that was all. I ordered the two meat combo ribs and brisket and collard greens and Mac and cheese. I wish we would have kept driving. First this is not bbq there is no hint of bbq smoked flavor at all not even an ounce of it. The meat tasted like it was out of the oven with not even any liquid smoke. I am so disappointed and disgusted on top of it not being bbq there was no flavor at all. Not even salt and pepper..we spent $50 for food to go in the trash I cannot eat this. Will never return. Not even worth mentioning the sides. ***UPDATE***** To the business owner that responded to my honest review that was very typical. So you admit that due to your bias of me walking in the door before one word was spoken you knew I was going to have a problem with the food well that’s interesting. I did not have an attitude as you said we haven’t even spoken a word to each other. So based upon my facial expression you gave me bad food? I told the truth about your food and the fact you said it would taste better if I come in with a better attitude is absurd. So your bias allows you to falsely accuse me of being negative based upon facial expression and I received horrible food because of it. That is horrible business practice and just wrong. The fact that I was nice to you meant absolutely nothing because you already proved your bias. I paid for food I’m not your employee so let’s be clear about that. Regardless of your personal views the food should taste how it’s advertised as bbq at the very least. You and your staff know what you did was wrong by serving a paying customer trash food on purpose and then you attack my character to hide the fact that your food was terrible. Yes I will copy and paste this updated response because it’s not worth going back and forth and writing anything other than the truth. I hope a secret shopper finds you and exposes your bias and the way you choose to serve certain people bbq versus what you served me. Be well. ***2nd UPDATE AFTER OWNERS 2nd RESPONSE** Your food should taste the way it tastes regardless of my face..so you sit certain food aside when someone walks in with an expression you don't like? You are childish and shouldn't own a restaurant. You gave me old food and you know it. It was horrible and I see why look at the owner...fake bbq you need to change the name because it was no such thing...look at the pictures of the food I paid for but because your bias you did it on purpose. I wish you would have had that same energy while I was there because I would have never ordered. I wasn't gonna say anything about you being a racist but the people that were behind me we could tell your demeanor changed. That is ok your food sucks and you served me old food and you deserved the review you received because it IS 100% TRUE. Your bias is screaming at this point and you should be embarrassed but you live this way and probably think it's ok. No worries you reap what you sow. Anything further is a waste of my time I’m sure you will send another update which will go unanswered.

This place is terrific, with excellent meats. Not sure how authentic it is as far as the "Texas style" they claim. In my experience (and reading) that the biggest differences between Southern and Texas styles are in the wood and the preferred meat. Texas features beef and mesquite smoke. Southern features pork and oak or hickory smoke. This place prefers mixing pork ribs with beef brisket. Their smoke of choice--oak. Nevertheless, the pitmaster at this place is expert at coasting every bit of natural flavors out of each meat item they offer. I had the combo plate. The brisket was alternatively fatty and lean--exactly perfectly balanced to make it tender and juicy. Personally, I grew up eating brisket and it was ALWAYS dry and tasteless. Not at this place. The spare ribs were served without sauce or glaze, which imparts the pure flavor of the pork. Perfect, not too fatty and moist, it's more "al dente." I hate "wet" ribs that "fall off of the bone." These were...um...toothsome. The sausage had a bit of a bite with the jalapeno and cheddar mix. It was delicious without either being overbearing. Of course they offer sauces on the side. The chicken didn't LOOK appetizing. It appeared dry, with a suspiciously crispy skin. I handed it off to my grandson who gave it a halfway-raised thumb. The salad was delicious, with pickled onions on the side. The mac and cheese was as good as the best I've ever had. Thick and gooey. The dessert was a strange way to produce bread pudding but it was a great invention and capped off the meal perfectly. You sit on a wooden bench at a picnic table outside on a canvas-covered patio. There is a counter inside along the front glass facing south. Even with the air conditioning at full blast, wear sunglasses and short sleeves. Service is virtually non-existing with a young person taking orders and handing out drinks. Most of the work going on is in the kitchen and the pits out in the back. Although the prices are high-ish and the portions are small-ish, this place to produce high-quality, slowly cooked, authentically smoked meats that are a treat to your tummy.

I visited a restaurant where I was warmly greeted by a pleasant cashier named Anna. She recommended a chicken special that was reasonably priced, so I decided to order it for takeout. I served the chicken to my three-year-old, only to find that he started vomiting shortly after taking a bite. Upon examining the chicken, I realized it was extremely undercooked. I called the restaurant to report the issue, and Anna personally spoke with me. She assured me that she would rectify the situation when I returned the next day. When I arrived on March 19, a different cashier was on duty. I showed her a photo of the undercooked chicken and explained my previous conversation with Anna. Unfortunately, the cashier did not offer an apology or any explanation, but she did offer me more chicken. I declined and requested a refund instead. The cashier contacted the owner over the phone to assist with processing the refund. The owner provided the refund promptly and without any issues. However, I was very displeased with the staff's nonchalant behavior after serving my family undercooked chicken. While Anna's customer service was exceptional, it would be beneficial for her to teach the rest of the staff how to handle such situations better.

Wow!!! Great service wonderful staff! In summary delicious! First let's talk about the food experience, when you first walk in to order you can see the chef slicing meats like freshly cooked brisket the juices running down his hands and you know then and there, you're in for a mouth treat and you haven't even ordered yet!!!! There to greet you at the counter are some of the nicest staff, as you look around everything is spotless and clean surprisingly for a barbeque spot, the menu choices vary, the chicken is definitely popular and has a tendency to sell out quickly so get there early! They have wings also in case they are low on the other chicken. Now let's talk about what I judge my barbeque by, Brisket and proper Mac and cheese side. The brisket melts in your mouth, I'm a fan of sauces but I really didn't need it here at all! I almost forgot I had a side of bbq sauce which was also tasty for the sauce lovers. The Mac and cheese! It was hearty, amazingly seasoned, not over seasoned and you'll be smacking your lips by the time you're done, I was stuffed and satisfied and the icing about the main meal, yes there's dessert too but I'll get to that soon, with my main meal I had an option for draft or bottles beers, I can't tell you how many times I've wanted an ice cold beer with my barbeque! Well done B &D. Lastly, let's talk about the banana pudding, not typically something I get but other reviews mentioned it and I had to try it, wow, just moist, not overly sugared, the right amount of banana taste so you know you're eating yum yummy banana bread pudding, the only thing I was missing was a side of ice cream but that's a personal preference, delish! On to the other stuff let me say the attention to detail, making it feel like you're at an outdoors picnic without the heat bearing down on you, it's nicely enclosed when needed and the fans are powerful so you will be comfortable eating unlike some food truck barbeque I've eaten in my time. I never write reviews, honestly no time, but this place was worth the time, I'll be back again and with some brisket and Mac to take...
