If you’re looking for a date night, celebration, or solo dinner- this is the place. Intimate but not too quiet, upscale but not snobby, excellent selections for a budget friendly “fancy” dinner or a place to spend that extra bonus from work and splurge. I started with the Smoked Burrata- what not to say about this dish. Presentation is immaculate. A cutting board filled with goodness. Burrata as the star, covered in a smoke filled glass that they remove upon serving to you, a bed of arugula and pickled onions, the crispiest best seasoned crostini I’ve ever had (it could easily stand alone as an appetizer) and a jam and balsamic smear to finish. The three times I’ve dined, this dish has been a MUST. My main course was going to be a snapper dish until Andrew pleasantly sold me on the daily feature. A modest trout filet seasoned with salt and cracked pepper. But what accompanied it was unexpected and beyond pleasing. A combination of charred zucchini, shishito peppers, pork belly, jalapeño sausage, pickled onions, all placed over a green curry and red pepper puree. The flavors literally evoked emotion. The only reason I didn’t finish the plate was so that I could take the rest home and eat it again tomorrow. Drinks- half priced bottles of wine say enough, but there so many amazing cocktails to choose from and sitting at the bar, I would love to stay and try each and every one just seeing them crafted. I finished with the White Chocolate Blueberry Bread Pudding and an espresso martini (a real one, no cream or kahlua in sight) Moist, firm, and filled with so much flavor, served so warm and fresh I had a bite that I thought would burn me which I promise is a positive when it comes to a bread pudding. The food aside, as someone that fear solo dining, Andrew made me feel comfortable, attended to, and had me relaxed and feeling at home in the first 5 minutes. His upselling is akin to very upscale high end hospitality, not a sales tactic. I wanted to spend the extra money on what he suggested because he explained the sale, or sold me on the dish- all in a natural conversation. I have never been even close to disappointed eating here, but now I’ve been WOWED. As a fellow service industry server, the bar for my own service has been raised. Do yourself a favor and get a reservation or walk in the door, you’ll thank yourself...
Read moreWe walked in at 5ish pm for a table of 3 + 10 month old baby. The wait would've been over an hour and there was just no way we would be able to wait with the baby however the manager was kind enough to accommodate us and I'm so glad he did! Everything we ate was so delicious!
The restaurant is a bit small about 12ish tables I believe? It has a very cozy vibe. My husband and father in law ordered the toasted old fashion and it smelled so pleasant! I had one of their zero proof drinks which was fresh and nice to have as a non alcoholic option.
For appetizers we ordered Country ribs - so good. Loved the picked slaw and the peanut butter wasn't overbearing but just enough to give the dish some extra flavor Mushroom fricasse - my absolute favorite. If you're a vegetarian you have to try this. It was so perfect I can't even explain. The bread was toasted so well and the mushrooms were so flavorful. My favorite part of all of this is nothing was bland! PEI mussels- my least favorite but it was still finished at the table, the bread was fabulous. Personally, would not order again because I would like to try something else.
For the main course we decided against the big plates route and decided to order more variety of things to try.
BBQ beef sliders- so good, melt in your mouth. 2 sliders would easily make a meal and 1 slider after all of those appetizers was very filling.
Shrimp and NCH jalapeño sausage skewer - this came off a hint saltier than I would like but sausage was very good. I'm very particular with shrimp so would probably swap this out with something else next time. Beet salad- very good I really appreciated the presentation. Again my favorite part of this restaurant was that not a single dish was bland. Everything was cooked with intention and it showed!
Because of the baby we didn't have a chance to eat dessert at the restaurant so took the cheesecake panna cotta to-go and I'm so happy with how it worked out! The lemon definitely makes the cake!
For our first time eating here we all had an incredible experience and would recommend this place to all of our family and friends. We appreciate the waitstaff's time and patience and for the manager who cared enough to get us seated as quickly as possible, a heartfelt thank...
Read more5 stars does not do this establishment justice. The only thing out of Food, Service, and Atmosphere that was 5 stars was the atmosphere—for the other two, 5+ stars! We ate there on July 3rd, and as someone who is not a fan of dates (the fruit), I was blown away by their *bacon-wrapped dates, and the *smoked burrata. Our server Brittany was on point the entire night, and within 5 minutes of her greeting us, we felt like we'd known her forever! I ordered the *Chilean Sea Bass as my entree, and all the entrees came out simultaneously. All entrees except mine, that is. I included this detail only to further praise the staff that night: Our wonderful server Brittany let me know that my dish was a few minutes away from completion, and a few minutes later, the Manager On Duty (I didn't get his name, but he deserves recognition as well!) personally came and informed me that my Sea Bass had been overcooked, and they were remaking my dish. He then cautioned me to save some room, as I would receive a dessert on the house as an apology. Let me first state that no apology was necessary—the dish was well worth the wait! Now to draw attention to two important details that might otherwise go overlooked: the MOD took full responsibility for the mishap, and more importantly, without me even seeing the dish or raising a complaint, they were remaking the dish to meet their exemplary standards of service. As someone who has worked in high-end dining, this wowed me. Dishes are rarely remade before a complaint is lodged, and the blame game is quite common across the industry. Lastly, the décor was wonderful. Classy, humorous, and the most gender inclusive bathrooms I have come across. For anyone dining here, take a close look at the names in the bottom right of the Cocktail Blueprints. You will not be disappointed! "Highly Recommend" would be an understatement.
*All dishes marked with an asterisk were recommended by Brittany, not as a go to, but these were suggestions made AFTER she took time to understand our...
