Wanfu Buffet — Restaurant in Fort Myers

Ok, so I've visited this place twice...the first time we went was before the pandemic so well over a year ago. The food was delicious, however the whole time we were the the waitresses wouldn't stop staring at us and giggling making us feel really uncomfortable. Only to later find out from the waitresses themselves they were staring because we were left handed and using our left hands to eat with chop sticks and even talking down to us. So we hadn't visited again. Now we decided you know what the food was good let's give this place another try. So tonight we visited and the place is nearly empty and hardly anyone working there. Get up to the buffet line and everything looks stale, like it has been sitting there for more than a day. I got the cream cheese and salmon roll, because it's what actually looked edible, and the seaweed was hard, and the salmon had a strange texture. Almost every roll had avocado, I don't mind it I actually like avocado, however the avocado was so old it wasn't green and yellow anymore it was brown and pasty...the fried rice was tough to chew. The chicken in the sweet and sour chicken was pink and undercooked. The steamed dumplings were crunchy, and the doughnuts couldn't even be bitten into. All in all, the best thing they had was the sweet tea I drank, the Madeline's which were prepackaged from a different company, and the ice cream which was partially melted by the way. And that's not the end of it. The food made my wife sick. She spent nearly an hour throwing up when we got home. Honestly...will never return to this place again. Well. I wish this review could be different considering the food tasted great at the time, however it was a terrible long term decision. My friend & I went out for a dinner on Sunday. We had about 2-3 plates of food. Not sure where the disconnect happened with the food safety laws and regulations, but we both woke up the next day with sore throats and feeling absolutely icky. We hadn’t eaten from anywhere else and the place had about 16 people dining in when we first got there. By the time we left there was only 2 other people asides from us. At some point in the visit there, we got contaminated and ended up sick for the next 5 days. I wondered if anyone else during this time left and experienced this sickness. I’m not sure if it had been the cooks bringing in and out the food that hadn’t properly protected their biology mixed with the food. Anyway, whatever the reason was- I’m livid with the experience. The seating area also wasn’t comfortable.. Nothing was seemingly dirty but it felt uncomfortable. This was my second time at this location so I was disappointed. Even more disappointing that the food we were eating was enjoyable for the moment. It’s as if we got fooled into believing we were eating delicious , reasonably priced food. Let's start with DO NOT GO HERE!!! I've never been so disgusted in my entire life!! So we went in and the hostess at first seemed very nice and sat us. We went up to get some food and first thing we noticed was how old everything looked as if it had been sitting there for awhile. It was scary looking but my mother insisted that maybe it's not as bad as it looks lets just try it and see (we were starving after a long day of running errands) ... BIGGEST regret. The food was old tasting and the VERY WORST PART of it is that I actually found HAIR IN MY FOOD!!!!! we called the hostess over to show her and let her know and she didn't even care she just looked at it and goes "oh sorry about that" and walked away. We told her right away we want our check we are DONE. No concern at all. No apologies from direct management was made unless she was managing and if that was the case this was handled terribly and THAT ALONE is scary, not even a discount or ANYTHING offered to mend what happened. I got my family out of there right away and I highly recommend you don't take your's!!!!! I work in the food industry and this was JUST NOT RIGHT!!
