Disappointed Long-Time Customer – Time to Move On
We’ve been loyal customers of El Agave 3 in Ringgold for a long time — in fact, our group comes in every Friday for lunch. Unfortunately, after our most recent visit, we’ve decided it’s time to take our business elsewhere.
We left work early to beat the rush and were seated in a section of the restaurant that, for some reason, is always noticeably slower. Our waiter dropped our drinks on the way to our table — accidents happen, no big deal — but it took two or three whole rolls of paper towels and a broom to clean it up. No mop? No help from other staff? It really makes you wonder how the floors are cleaned on a regular basis.
We sat there waiting 6–8 minutes before we could even order because the waiter was on his own trying to clean the spill. Once we ordered, we expected things to move along — but they didn’t. We waited another 10+ minutes with zero communication, all while watching three or four large parties of 8–10 people come in, get seated, receive their drinks and full meals before us. It’s unclear if they ordered ahead — and if they did, how are regular customers supposed to know that? Either way, it completely defeats the purpose of coming in for a “quick” lunch.
One person in our party got so frustrated with the wait that they just left.
When we finally went to pay, the manager made us wait again while he worked through a stack of receipts. He asked how everything was — and when we answered honestly, he clearly didn’t care. Not even an apology.
As long-time supporters (dating back to when this place was still Tres Amigos), we’re extremely disappointed. The service has declined, and it’s clear that regular customers are no longer a priority. We’ve spent a lot of money here over the years, but unfortunately, we can no longer recommend El Agave 3 to anyone.
We’ll be finding a new place to eat....

Ask for the verde salsa: it is medium heat with good flavor and it does cost extra but worth it in my opinion.
Texas Fajitas with light onions and peppers are is my current favorite dish.
Original: I love the El Agave quesadilla and El Agave burrito! I stumbled on if you get the El Agave burrito and cut it all up and mix it real good after adding about half a side of their fries and adding an entire bowl of their red salsa it is AMAZING!!!! See pics
The El Agave burrito has Shrimp, Chicken, Steak, Chorizo, with rice n beans and some salsa verde it sits in on the plate. They pour some queso over it too. They add onions into the burrito but I tend to pick out the big chunks of onion because I tend to prefer onions a bit more chopped up
I do love to get a soft shell carne asada taco as well as they are very good too.
I think this place is better now than when it used to be Tres Amigos. Back then I didn’t eat there and now I definitely do.
I came back and got the El Agave Nachos substitute nachos for Fries and OMG! It is 17.99 but worth it and I need two bowls of salsa to dump on...
Read moreI used to go when it was Tres Amigos. The food was good then. Not now. Chips and Salsa are good. Beans were dry and had no flavor like they were out of a can. Rice also had no flavor and was dry and clumped together. Guacamole was okay but was not smooth and had a large piece of Avacado in the middle. I usually finish my plate of food at a Mexican restaurant. Not this one. I can think of any number of places around the area and surrounding area where the food is better and more flavorful. Also be forewarned that if you are wanting a Margarita with your meal that they don’t have their liquor license either. I thought I would give this reboot of the old place a try but it was my first and last time going there. Hopefully it will...
