Ordered Brunswick stew, very disappointed. It did not have the essentials for a Brunswick stew. Brunswick stew should consist of shredded or pulled pieces of pork and chicken, corn and lima beans tomato sauce tomatoes, bbq sauce, onions and hint of garlic. There are no llama beans there are no pulled pork or pork chicken one or two kernels of corn tasted more like a chili base than a Brunswick stew. They used to have really good Brunswick stew I don’t know what happened. And I thought they served cornbread with the stew and the dinners as well, but that was not an option. You can’t have Brunswick stew if you don’t have a little side of cornbread to serve with it. The saltine crackers they serve me stale. I didn’t say anything. I think the lady knew because she brought me over some Crackers and said they should be fresher. I’m also concerned that the smoky flavor that I’m getting off of the pulled pork that I ordered is liquid smoke I know they’re cooking it there looks like a smoker, has a chimney, it smelled really good in there, but it taste like liquid smoke, I do hope I’m wrong This used to be the go to place for barbecue and it’s one of the few mom/pop places left in Fort Walton to get barbecue, but I was disappointed I went to the grocery store and bought me ingredients to make Brunswick stew and I went home and made me some Brunswick stew and a cake...
Read moreI always heard good things about Kinfolks BBQ. However, I’ve never been here before so I decided to take my family with me to get our first experience together. And boy did we get a phenomenal first experience! We arrived here as party of five (2 adults and 3 children). While we always love eating good food we weren’t particularly hungry when we arrived here that day. So we thought we will try their something simple and straightforward just to get an idea of their food. So we ordered a family platter (which according to the menu it should able to feed 4 people). It came with a half-chicken, brisket and as a side with got some coleslaw, white bread and French fries. Long story short that plate only made us more hungrier because of how delicious it was and we ended up ordering even more brisket in the end. Food was off the charts in terms of taste. It was very tasty and flavorful. My daughter (8 years old) even said that we should come here every day (!). She doesn’t always say that. And that should tell something about the food here. Oh by the way, the staff treated us like family. They were super friendly, welcoming and showed that authentic southern hospitality! And the prices were very reasonable too. Overall we had an absolutely great time. We most definitely will be coming...
Read moreI finally had a chance to stop by here for the first time after living here for a few years.
Unfortunately, this place has the same work hours that other people do, and they're closed on the weekends, so trying to eat here when they're actually open can be quite the endeavor. Though, you can call in advance and pick up your order if you don't have a lot of time during lunch.
It goes without saying that the staff here is extremely friendly. The waitress explained the ins-and-outs of the menu to me to try and get a feel of what I may or may not like. Afterwards, I felt a lot more comfortable about what I was ordering and what it would come with.
I got a "chipped" (cut very finely) pork sandwich, and maybe it was a mistake to get it cut that way, since there was a very small amount of meat on the sandwich. I honestly couldn't really taste it that much if at all.
Next time, I'll have to take that into consideration when ordering. With the nice feel about the place, I don't think I'll have any second thoughts about...
