I'm pretty surprised at how many reviews come across as glowing and positive about this place from a breakfast standpoint. While the service was attentive, and they kept the coffee cups full, the food was just not good at all, and that's what really matters My party had 3 people and we all tried different breakfast staples... All 3 of us found the food to be poor quality at best. The hotcakes were rubbery and had a very weird taste. Butter and syrup did not help. The biscuit/egg/sausage sandwich was obviously made from frozen, premade items... including the eggs which were a convenient square shape. The chicken fried steak & eggs at least had fresh eggs which were cooked properly but the chicken fried steak (and the gravy) were obviously thawed/heated from frozen. The breading on the steak was wet (just like you'd expect from a frozen yet semi-thawed patty) and the gravy wasn't warm. More like room temperature. Considering how packed the place was, I thought it was a good sign about a kitchen having timely service when our food came out within 10 minutes of us ordering. Turns out I was wrong... it was obviously nuked and slapped on a plate. I won't ever be returning to this place. One final note. There are multiple signs hanging in the wall behind the cashier's stand that basically demonstrate how this restaurant could care less about what the customer's think. Sort of tongue-in-cheek comments on customer service and/or quality of food. Those signs would be humorous if the restaurant actually had quality food... in this case however, it paints a different picture. It makes you realize that they actually don't care about balancing good food, for good value, with good service. Nor do they care about feedback. On the positive side, we...
Read moreThe menu here is large. Part of the fun of eating here is choosing what to have. The food tastes like home-cooked and portion sizes are pretty good. You will almost certainly need a to-go box if you order any of the entrees, but if you like to eat light, there is a full selection of sides that allow you to build your own meal. The atmosphere is casual and promotes good conversation. Tables, chairs, and booths are available and there is even a private room that can be reserved for groups. If you're dining by yourself you can enjoy the news on one of their multiple TVs. The restaurant is family owned and operated and they take good care of their guests. Service is exceptional, coffee is great and the cups are of course bottomless. If you want to try some Korean fare, there's even Korean Bulgogi and Kimchi on the menu and it is probably the best you can find in these parts. The Breakfast Place is conveniently located on Beal Pkwy across the street from Harley Davidson. There is more than adequate parking as the restaurant is right next to Wright Baptist Church and they have a good size parking lot that's open to diners if you can't find a spot at the Breakfast Place. Prices are very reasonable. You can get a full New York Strip for only $14.00 if I recall. I'd recommend the Breakfast Place over anywhere else in the area! It's way better than the local IHOP and as for breakfast at MacDonald's or some other fast foodie place, forget about it. Make some memories and treat your taste buds to a real delight at an affordable price -- go to the...
Read moreI tried to refrain from doing this because I frequent this location often for breakfast meetings with family, friends and for business purposes. But right is right and wrong is wrong. I walked in the Breakfast Place on Sunday with my little one and there was quite a few people there, so I waited by the register. There was a line of people checking out, so we waited patiently. After a few minutes a black gentleman stepped out of line and said maâam I like your t-shirt and got back in line. When it was his turn to check out, the woman at the register walked away and left him and a few more customers standing in line. Five minutes later, still there we stood without any acknowledgement. One of the other employees came to the register and finished checking out the remaining customers. Another waitress that has waited on me frequently and always had conversation, looked me in my face and ignored me as well. After seven minutes, no one said a word to me as we stood there. I started to leave but what was happening was very apparent so I stayed. I took Babygirlâs hand and we walked to a booth and sat down. The second cashier came over to the table after she finished checking everyone out, asked if I had been helped and apologized. From that point on she was on it. She received a fabulous tip as she scrambled to make up for the otherâs short comings. I was wearing a t-shirt that read, âALL LIVES CANâT MATTER IF BLACK LIVES DONâT MATTERâ. Take this information and do what you want with it but the Breakfast Place will not get another dime...
