Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

Today's visit was not so good. Usually very happy with this place, by the way, but today was rough. About 7:30 pulled into lot and as usual, dining room still closed and there was a very long line of cars waiting to use drive-thru. There are signs on the windows saying OPEN FOR DRIVE-THRU AND CARRY OUT and also curbside pickup spots. Hoping I could avoid a long wait I called the restaurant (number is clearly posted on curbside signs) and was told no, I could not order and have them bring to curb. I had to download the app and do it that way. I asked why I could not simply place the order while on phone right now and was told nope. Have to download app and do it that way. I knew downloading app and setting up payment and finding items and placing order would take awhile and didn't want to go through that simply to try their limited time fish & chips so stayed in line. Which hardly moved. I was in line in drive-thru 20 minutes and when I gave up and left, there were still 4 cars ahead of me. Not sure why this would be since they were not serving customers in restaurant and were only serving one person at a time. This was a rotten experience. My guess it that like every fast-food place they may have had staffing issues? (employees not showing up) but either way it was a waste of time and effort. And maybe consider being a little more flexible when someone really wants to...

So I typically do not come to this location as I live out north, but because I decided that I wanted this for lunch and I work in Waynedale I came to this location. It would do your manager CHI well to learn how to be professional, and to not leave her consumer feeling like a bother or discriminated against. She was very polite to the caucasian ladies that ordered before me even though they were quite indecisive because apparently they come in regularly, but because I changed my mind on an order number I get huffing and puffing as though I asked her to go back and make me fresh chicken. I apologized for the change upfront at that. Not only that but she still got the order wrong in the fact that I asked for a 2pc strip lunch special and not bone in, but the icing on the cake was the attitude on the sugar substitute for my unsweet tea. If you don't like your job find another, but to single me out as though I was rude or asked you to go above and beyond the scope of your job wasn't okay at all. I won't return I'll go all the way out north before I come back there. Chi or whatever your name is not a great example of how her employees should be conducting themselves as far as professionalism and personality. There is no other. KFC can kiss my booty. Lol. Lee's is the best in the Midwest. The chicken it's excellent, not tiny pieces in a lot of greasy batter. The steps are worth waiting fir and the success are excellent. Mashed potatoes and gravy being the bomb with my kids since they were babies. The green beans are southern style with bacon in them, another hit. The biscuits are great, buttery and slightly salty to off set any honey. They have excellent sauces to dip and their livers and gizzards are killer according to my hubby. The chicken and noodles can't be beat and can be gotten as a side. Ask about the daily specials. Tea by the gallon and Pepsi products. Great staff in there on Rudisill too. Only open till 9pm I think. Not sure about summer hours but they are busy. Don't let that deter you...they keep it...
