Mom and Pop's Diner — Restaurant in Fort Wayne

I've been driving otr for 8 years now. Ive ate at many truck stops. I typically stay away from truck stop restaurants. The quality of the food is less than desirable to me. Bad quality food, preparation and presentation. I like the good stuff.

Tonight I was looking for an indian restaurant (I am an American born and raised in Va Beach, VA) near me but everything ai found was almost closed or wouldnt answer the phone. I ran out of time to find qhat I want. Now what?

Another driver for our company is here parked beside me. He walked back to his truck and with some ffod in hand! I asked him about it and he responded in a way that I thought hmmm, maybe ai should go try it!

I walked in and qas oblivious to the fact they were closing in 20 min. Tristyn was my server and was not even going to say anything but ai sensed something was up but not cus of her. I asked when they close. She told me and added that i need not worry about that and should take my time and order.

Ok! Tyvm! I ordered the blackened ribeye with country taters and green beans. I wasnt expecting what arrived at my table with a great presentation!

I order my steaks rare. The taters were cooked perfectly as well as the green beans and thick juicy steak!

In no way was I rushed and I was treated like i was family! I had the BEST MEAL I HAVE EVER HAD AT A TRUCK STOP!!! The (Im not calling him a cook!) Chef did an excellent and idk waht was better... the food or the service! Both were first class! Amazing that I would ever write such a review about a truck stop restaurant!

It was so good I tipped $25 on a $35 dinner and it was worth every penny! Great job Tristyn and the chef!! Best truck stop meal Ive ever had!! Give these 2 a raise and never...

Might be a good place to eat but then again, maybe you'll walk all the way from the rear of the truck parking lot because you need excersise.....you get your burgers to go...ask for burgers all the way...meaning american burger with all the fixings.....we got two burnt burger patties with cheese plain and dry.....because the "Manager"....( wouldn't give her name)....assumed we wanted the burgers cooked all the way.....my wife went all the way back to fix the order because if I did it, I would definitely make a scene and probably go to jail.....we work so hard and after along day....after delivering everyone's crap....after getting kicked out of lots you just delivered at....a little decent, honest service with attention to detail wouldn't hurt anyone....my wife's back and upset because I called the place and told them to cancel/ refund my order....and serve her...

This place has the feel of someone attempting to try their best. The walls was updated with decor from the 90's what it looked like. It had the pledge on wall ( which was nice to see) The mean is a mix of all kind of food from different locations. I did try the mushroom swiss burger (made it a double, thinking it was less then $2 to added by what the menu said), the other person in my group did the open face chili burger. Both of our burgers was tough and hard to chew. We both asked for mayo to go with our dinners. It come out in the little plastic cup. When we got the check it was close to $50.
