AWFUL service! My work used to host our Christmas party here so I thought it would be a good place to take my Venezuelan clients for dinner but it was a big mistake! First there was no one to sit us, there were literally 4 at the restaurant and no staff anywhere. But I know there’s a shorter of workers so we stayed. We ordered or food and everything was okay until the food came out and my client couldn’t eat hers because for her taste it was too spicy so she asked for a modified order. The waiter took her plate and went into the kitchen and started mocking my client along with the cook. They both laughed and make jokes about how she was going to burn her throat. Our table was right next to the kitchen so we heard everything.
As a Mexican myself, I couldn’t be more embarrassed of their disrespectful comments. I apologize to my client and I said I would speak with the manager but my client is so kind that she politely address the cook when she came out of the kitchen and explain that she is not Mexican and therefore not used to spicy food. She didn’t want me taking to management because she’s way too nice but this was so embarrassing and disrespectful that I will the first one to protest if our office wants to ever go there again.
Obviously these people are not trained on what customer service means or looks like. And on top of everything the food was not even good. What was supposed to be a celebratory dinner turned into an...
Read moreI don't know. The outside looks fine. The inside is a redone old home with glass store front doors that need Windex and fewer flies. The staff is friendly, kind to finger-snapping needy people and patient with mobility impaired people. Even the patrons here are good souls.
The beer is cold. The tea is generously and often refilled. But the food. It isn't what I would serve or like to be served. It is brown and spread out and soft and tired and just, well, tired. Greasy without being especially flavorful. And the whole place has a certain aroma...beans? I don't know. I can't say anything bad about it but I can't say anything encouraging. It's like, if they shut the place down and refreshed it from top to bottom and redid the kitchen and cooked up some Rick Bayless type of fresh foods then I would return. Otherwise, it is a sore, exhausted menu of soft foods that do not have any appeal to me, personally.
The staff is wonderful. The idea of it is great, but the weariness of what I saw and tasted on the plates just let me down. Maybe it was an off night. I bet so. But, like I said,...
Read moreFood is good, waitress was nice. We will not be back though because of how they treated us when we called them to inform them of the incident that took place as we were leaving.
My husband was bit on his hand by a dog that was by the exit with some customers. The lady on the phone claimed that the manager saw him pet the dog, but if he saw that, he would have seen the dogs bite not a second later. He didn't come outside to check on him so I'm sure he didn't see anything.
Btw, my husband did not pet the dog, his arms were at his side and he has arms as long as my legs so he can't help where they were when he paused for a split second.
Blaming my husband and lying are 2 big deals. We were not looking for money, just to tell them as they obviously didn't know.
Handling it the wrong way cost them our return visit and our vote for others. I'm a reasonable person and if they had of apologized for it, no problem but lied and blamed him.
Blaming him doesn't absolve the restuarant from the liability of the situation. We are...
