Rick's Kitchen — Restaurant in Fortuna Foothills

Let me start by saying we love Rick's. We've been there for breakfast 3X the last 2 weeks. However, Our last visit was a little disappointing. I can't eat bread and the first time we went, when I told the waiter I couldn't have toast he offered fruit. I was very appreciative. The second time when I told the waitress I couldn't have toast, she did not offer fruit so I asked. She told me no, not allowed. Ok. After a few minutes she brought me some fruit and thanked me for educating her about the substitution. 3rd visit, 1 week later. Same waitress, again told no its not allowed. I told her we did this last time. Then when our order arrived, I got fruit. Thank you. But some consistency would be nice. It's embarrassing to be told no each time. On another note...I ordered the Meat Lovers Scram Bowl. In the menu description there is no mention of green peppers and raw onions in it. Had I known I would have ordered something else. I suffer severe heartburn from raw onions. I ate it, it was delicious and later I popped a few tums. Another ask would be more clarity in your menu descriptions. Food is always so good and the service is always okay.... but their was a server an older lady who the first thing she said when she saw me was, 'do you want to sit outside?!" I said no thank you my husband is parking the car, he will probably want to sit inside. Well that seems to really set her off because when she told us to sit anywhere while running by not even making eye contact.. Another nice older man told us to sit anywhere we told him the booth were dirty he cleaned it right away. That seems to make her even more mad!!!! I have no idea what I did to this woman, by this time she had a crazy look in her eyes and was making so much noise throwing dishes around, I was like what did I do to tick her off?!. Asked for a booth? The only thing I can think of is that can make her angry is the color of mine and my husband skin ( we are people of.color). Which is such a shame because we love that place. But it's the second time we go and we are not treated the same as their usual customers". Idk why she's so mad and why she was so comfortable to show her aggression towards us. 2 stars is mainly to get it recognized! Have eaten here many times ( has been a little while) , never a problem with food, service or friendliness. Today i went (and again very friendly-during service) and unfortunately will not return. You have priced yourself out of reasonability! 20 dollars plus TIP another 4 dollars. 24 dollars for a lunch bacon cheeseburger, fries and a diet coke. the fries had been sitting a little while probably about 5-8 minutes before i received them but still ok. I did try to nicely alert the cashier so the owner would know that myself and it will add up that the price has inflated past what is reasonable, got the well im not the owner and was than ignored after that! I like the place and statement was made in best regards to let them know that price is now not reasonable for a cafe! I wanted just to make the owner aware, but the reception to a very pleasant, calmly stated concern, I felt like i was given the FU.
