Brass Rail Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Fortuna

I read the other reviews before writing mine and apparently I’m not alone in finding the server attitude far below good service - it’s not possible to give below one star. I’ve been here numerous times in the past over the last seven or eight years and always had a good time, with prompt service. Tonight that was far from anything close to that. After ordering a round of drinks and food, we played pool. My next drink order was ignored. 3 times. My daughter got, I admit, Mama defensive and she and her friend left. I tried to talk reasonably with the bartender and literally everyone at the bar went posse on e, ignoring her rude ‘locals first’ behavior. I come from a very small island, I get that ‘We’re so cool’ schtick. They were juvenile and pathetic. And lost a nice tab and tip. One arrogant barely more than a child said the bartender was also the manager. Wow, really? Good luck with that! When the adults come back in the room, however long that takes, I might go back. Probably not. Oh, and when she learns how to make a proper Moscow Mule (like they used to do?)that...

Had the smash burger. I tell ya these people. They treated us like they've known us for years. From the owner telling my wife and I to take his seat because they were slammed. And it's obvious why. Every single employee was so on top of it we didn't even know who our server was. We were treated like family. Now the food. The smash burger. Secret sauce made it all. Cooked perfect. Juicy with that crispy outer shell yet not burnt. Excellent consistency of proportions. The seasoned beef separated it from all other burgers. Wife insisted I try her chicken sandwich and I was like naw, all chicken tastes the same. Told her I didn't want to ruin the flavor in my mouth from the burger but....loving husband that I am, took one for the team... No it's not like any other chicken sandwich. Had no idea Hogwarts had a culinary academy because this was wizardry. You guys...

I only went to try the food. I’ve heard Taco Tuesdays are fire. I was greatly. GREATLY, disappointed at my food. My order: 2 burgers, chicken tenders, 3 curly fries. Almost eighty bucks, so I expected damn good quality food. The burgers were good. But all the curly fries were garbage. And the burgers don’t come with fries. They don’t have regular fries by the way. I stood at the bar for around 7 minutes before the one bartender acknowledged my presence. There was five people at the bar, not a busy night. I know this is a bar not a restaurant but I thought the food would be better. The food experience was as I said disappointing. But the drinking experience might be better. Personally I’ll never go back ever. Best of luck, the drinks are all it’s good...
