The Landing — Restaurant in Fountain City

My wife and I stopped here with a friend of ours. My wife's friend had been here before and had good things to say about the place. My wife and her friend got the fish and shrimp combo, I just got the fish. Usually I like an all you can eat fish fry, I asked the waitress how big the pieces were and she said that she doesn't have people order more than 3 pieces because they are pretty big. I got 4 and had to take one home. The batter was excellent and so was the fish! It's haddock, which was a nice change. The tartar sauce was really good too, which makes or breaks a fish fry for me. My wife and her friend said the shrimp was excellent as well. I'll have to try that next time we stop. The only slightly negative part was that our young waitress was not very personable, we tried to joke around with her a couple times and she didn't really seem to have a sense of humor. I have nothing but amazing things to say about the Wing Dam since it has been under new ownership. Stopped in with family and friends to have dinner, and the food was amazing. Came out hot, flavors were awesome, perfectly cooked burgers and a light salad with the meal. Their prime rib is top notch, and their daily specials. Superb. The Owner came to visit a bit at our table, and the Chef and his apprentice also came out to visit with us and tell us about the new designed menu that they are unrolling in about 3 weeks. Also their other staff were exceptional as well. They opened the dining room up for us because a couple of my family members do have slight mobility issues. I highly recommend going and eating here. Went to Wing Dam on Labor Day and it was full on the inside. We didn't know about the back porch when we walked in and found a spot so I can't comment on it other than it's in back and likely overlooks the river. Service was very good considering how busy it was. I had the California burger and it was delicious. I split an order of cheese curds with my friend and they were delicious as well. He got the Wood Splitter which gave me entree envy after it arrived. He got a bloody which he said was good and came with a 12 oz bottle of domestic for a chaser.
