First things first... I should've known something was up when no one working or eating at this Mexican restaurant appeared to even be Mexican. Now, on to the specifics... stopped in for an early dinner after hearing people talk about the Mexican food the Fountain Hills.

Service was SLOW. Took over an hour from when we ordered our food before it arrived... no apology as this is clearly common practice and it appeared everyone's food took a long time to arrive. There were only 2 of us.

I ordered the Enchilada de Queso with carne asada. The menu says "beef" and I inquired specifically as to the type of beef. I ordered the Carne asada. Our food finally arrived. Food was hot but I noticed immediately that my first bite of enchilada didn't have meat in it. I looked into the second and saw meat there.

When I got to the second enchilada, I realized that the meat looked like shredded beef as opposed to carne asada. When the waitress came around I inquired and she said "no, our carne asada looks like that, the shredded beef is normally darker." Sounded strange to me so I looked at the carne asada that the other person dining with me had and it clearly looked different then my "carne asada." The waitress said she would get the manager but she knew that she wrote "carne asada" on the ticket. Fast forward 2-3 minutes and the waitress says "I put down Carnitas on the ticket because thats want you ordered but if you want something else I can have them remake it!" I was nearly finished eating my PORK enchiladas. I declined her offer to remake them because at this point, I was ready to go! Manager never came over to the table and we were charged full price for the PORK enchiladas. In the future hopefully El Encanto will better train their staff on terminology and the type of Mexican food they are actually serving. Fun Fact: I haven't eaten Pork in 5 months....

I went in there tonight, I've been there several times before with no problems but this time was different. I have to admit i'm not a big Mexican food lover but my dad is and I like to go where he wants to go sometimes. In the past I ordered a hamburger and they are really tasty burgers . Tonight I ordered a burger, waitress took my order, no problems, about 10 minutes later she came back to the table and said they can't cook my burger, so I asked her for the manager. A few moments later one of the managers came and gave me some song and dance about it being too busy for them to make my burger, There were some smaller burgers on the menu for kids and I asked him If I could get 2 of them for the price of the big one and he said you have to pay the full price for them. I said I don't care, I just want to know the price. I don't think he knew at the time, He then said he's trying to be nice and I said so am I He then told me that he did not care if we left. So we got up and left. There is one manager there, a heavy set man. I am not referring to him. He wasn't there, He seems to be very kind and always make the customer come first. The customer doesn't come first with...

I recently had a very disappointing experience at El Encanto de la Fuente, and I feel compelled to share it. I'm not sure if there are new owners or management, but the service has drastically declined.

I made a reservation through their website for a large party. With a confirmation in hand, I was told that they could not accommodate us. The staff claimed they didn't have the capacity to honor the reservation, despite having accepted it in the first place. What is the point of making a reservation if it’s not going to be honored?

To make matters worse, the attitude of the staff was incredibly unprofessional. There was no acknowledgment of the situation, no apologies—just a dismissive attitude of "not our problem." It's frustrating enough to deal with a last-minute change for a large group, but to be met with such indifference was truly unacceptable.

I hope they can improve their service, as it currently leaves much to be desired. I certainly won’t be returning.

If there is a zero, that is the score...

El Encanto is a great place to enjoy authentic Mexican food. One of the ways I test for really good Mexican food is to taste the refried beans before I eat anything else on my plate. My palate catches the subtle flavors that should be present in refried beans that are prepared correctly. El Encanto passes this taste test! El Encanto has an open air patio in addition to indoor seating. I chose the patio for my dinner and was pleasantly surprised by all the holiday decorations across the patio area. This tells me that the owners care about the dining experience of their customers. A lot of work and a bit of love went into thoughtfully offering a seasonal environment to enhance your dining experience during the holidays. Service was also excellent from food that was served on hot plates so it would stay warm longer to waitresses who were attentive and anticipated the needs of customers. If you enjoy Mexican food and desire a great dining experience, El Encanto is the perfect place.

Good food maybe a bit too salty. The wait staff was excellent, from trying to get me what I was hoping for to accomidating my wife's gluten free and tomato free diet. I ordered a chimichanga with veggies and shredded chicken covered in cheese sauce. My wife got chicken tacos. We had a Guacamole appetiser. It was too salty and in spite of us ordering it without tomato's, you guessed it. My chimichanga came with the wrong meat the first time, and the second time it was without cheese sauce. My wife's tacos had you guessed it tomato's in them. That is a high error rate. The food was good quality. But wrong every time. The sangria was good and not too sweet. But when the bill came I got upset: they had charged me for the missing sour cream 1.50 and 2.99 for wife's dipping sauce. Had this been a cheap restaurant maybe I would have understood, but 19.00 for a chimichanga that's about $6 more than I pay in the expensive part of New York for one. Oh yes.....and the chairs are horrible.
