We’ve visited Bolts several times as we pass through Colorado City. Their chicken strips were absolutely the best I’ve ever had. I frequently told people, it’s worth the trip to have their hand breaded chicken strips. It’s been awhile since our last visit as we hadn’t traveled that way recently.
All I could dream about was ordering the best chicken strips as we planned our trip through Colorado City. Sadly, when they gave us our order, the chicken strips were not their AMAZING hand battered strips anymore. They were not good at all. No amazing sauce like I would get in the past either. So disappointed.
The burger was good that my husband ordered. That doesn’t seemed to have changed from our last visit.
The staff, particularly the female taking orders seemed annoyed and laughed as we said we were looking over the menu. She wasn’t kind, nor seemed to care to be there.
We use to love and always brag about the staff. They were always so kind and clearly enjoyed their jobs.
I’m not sure we will be back, which is very disappointing...
Read moreDo you like paying 2x as much for 1/2 the food and 1/4 of the friendliness? My gosh I have just the place for you! As you walk into the warm and welcoming hallway that serves as the entryway you are greeted with palpable sneers and disdain for your existence. Got questions about the menu? We embrace a “help you help yourself” philosophy by knowing absolutely nothing about what we serve. For over $20/pp you might expect the pictures on the menu board to serve as a close approximation of what is served but we shatter expectations by scaling that back by at least 50%. Then we sit on it for that “artisanal” touch. Flavor? We don’t waste your time with that. Friendliness? Who’s got the energy to deal with happy people? Let’s just treat this like a Tinder date and part ways as soon as you’re done. Seriously, though this place is absolutely NOT worth the price. Go across the highway to High Octane or next door to Three Sisters. Let this place just fade...
Read moreFood was mediocre at best. Fries were over cooked. Too much "Bolt" sauce on the burger. Granddaughters grilled cheese was a novel idea, a hamburger bun flipped inside out and grilled. Edges were burned to a crisp. When an 8 year old says PaPaw I can't eat this!!! You know it's way over done. My hamburger was over cooked. The best thing about the meal was the 4 desserts. They were really good!! Not so sure we will be going back. It was exceptionally expensive ($70) for lunch!!
Gave it a second try. Was even more disappointed than the first. Tried the patty melt. Way way too much sauce and onions!!! Fries were decent. Service was fair. Way, way over priced. Spent $80 for 4 adults and 2 kids meals. Could have eaten at a steak joint for that!!! Definitely will not be going back. Sad. Great opportunity to serve a small community and the traveling public. Just sad. Sorry Bolt. I call 'em as I see...
