Reviewing High Octane BBQ. We stopped in for a bite, we needed a break from the road. Once seated, our drinks took awhile to arrive, there was another table but they looked finished. Dad and I ordered brisket sandwiches. He opted for chopped brisket and fries as a side. I ordered my brisket sliced. For my side i chose the baked bean, based on the recommendation from the server. My brother ordered a combo plate. The meats were Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Pork Ribs, it also came with a roll, pickles and onions. He chose Cole Slaw as his side. My brother loved everything, I tried the pulled pork and tasted no smoke at all. My Brisket was moist and tender, but I felt it lacked that smokiness I am so used to. I am from Texas so that might explain that thought. There was a thin smoke ring on my brisket. We still enjoyed our sandwiches. I loved the house made pickles and kudos on the onions as well. I wasn't to crazy about the beans, no love, dried up. Unfortunately they tasted that way. I did take two bites tho, one to taste, and one more to make sure that's what I tasted. Overall it was a good experience and definitely hit the spot. Then it was back on the road to Denver.

I'm going to give it two stars because the folks that were real nice and the price point was right for what it is. But I used to work at this place when it was obese and I'm from Georgia I know barbecue and I don't mean to be mean or unfair but the ribs were soggy and the sauce was the weirdest thing I've ever tasted in my life. I spent 13 years in the kitchen and I have never tasted anything like that I'm not sure if it's bad or not but to me that was not barbecue. There was also no bark on there or on the brisket that wasn't even smoked it was baked (not bad just not smoked) and the only meat that seemed truly smoked was the pulled pork. Bad use of a 18 ft smoker guys. Sad to see the state of the food now. This used to be some of the best smoked bbq I've ever had before. Like you keep eating even if your not hungry. Lol. Anyway I wish the best to the new owners but I will not be back.

We ordered take out here last week. There was a bit of a wait, but once you taste the food, you’ll see why. Let me start off by saying I do not eat ribs nor am I a big BBQ person (because ive only had them once where I liked them). This dish was not mine, but my co-driver’s. When we opened our to-go boxes, I looked over and knew immediately I needed to try this meat. Absolutely incredible ribs. The flavor was everything. You don’t even need their BBQ sauce to enjoy their food. But it is delicious as well. I ordered the wedge salad and it was amazing too. The customer service is great and the ladies were very pleasant and friendly. Definitely want to stop here and grab some food again! The fried okra was good. Wasnt too fond of their mashed potatoes (lacked flavor big time). Overall, satisfied!!

Was pleased to see this establishment open back up or what we thought was Obie’s. Unfortunately, it was no longer Obie’s but High Octane instead. Apparently the marijuana dispensary and restaurant are one or so it appears. I decided to give them a try right after they opened up, stopping in for lunch after a short bike ride. Went in and sat at the bar since I was alone. Was then rudely told by a dark haired girl that sitting at the bar wasn’t allowed, even though there were already two people sitting a few seats away at the same bar. So I stood up and waited to be seated at a table, was told to sit where I want. So I walked into the dining room and sat to the back away from most people keeping social distance. Waited about 20 minutes and never got greeted or approached by a server, I calmly walked out the same way I went in. Because they were just getting started I decided to go back another day and give it another try. Figured I would give them the benefit of the doubt so last Monday both myself and my wife went together but this time we were greeted and sat a table on the patio as we requested. We decided to order appetizers and a beer. Timing was off, seemed to take forever, the server was wonderful which is the only reason this post received 1 star. After eating our wings and finishing our beer we were given a ticket which only had price we owed, a bit high so we asked for a printout if ticket and gave our bank card. The server comes right back saying card was declined and even ran twice. I politely said, no way but here’s another card to use handing her my Discover. She comes back with credit card recipient but not a detailed print out. We left not thinking twice about it and left an $8.00 Tio. The next day my wife checked our account and realized that we did get charged for the meal and it wasn’t declined. So now we are fuming realizing that we were double charged. Yesterday we went in to let them know of the mistake to the very same server that waited on us when all of a sudden that same Rude dark haired girl that I had experience with the first day I went in, anyway she interrupts the conversation between my wife and our server saying that we need to bring in bank statements before they can refund. Knowing all they have to do is check their credit card batch and also daily recipients to see that we were over charged and they were over for the day. So we left not arguing waiting to see if maybe that charge would just drop off as a mistake but it never did and we have been double charged! Unfortunately we aren’t able to get back in until the weekend so we try calling but no pho e is list. Will try and go back. I will only be back there one more time and that’s to get my refund, but I’m sure I can’t trust to eat there again. Not sure who the dark haired girl is, but just that attitude alone is enough to keep a person away. Do not recommend this place at all, don’t let the signs fool you, Obie’s is no longer in business there even thought their sign is still up. Done!!!

Update:

Quick response after leaving message for owner/manager. Thank you for making this right and refunding the money that was over charged. Understand mistakes happen, but customer service is key....

The first time we came here it was known as Obies and it was delicious. My husband decided he wanted to visit again for his birthday. We arrived and stood in the doorway for over 5 minutes waiting to be seated as the sign suggested. The young waitress that finally asked how many in our party disappeared and left us in limbo and when she finally came back she said I guess you can sit here because it's the only open table. She disappeared again without taking our drink order. We waited for over 20 minutes before another waitress asked us if we've been helped and offered to take our drink order and food order. It was another 40 minutes before food came out. My son ordered the kids mac and cheese and when it came out it looked delicious so I decided to try it. It was ICE COLD. I flagged down the first waitress that seated us and she took it and brought out another one that she said "just came out of the oven". I took another bite and it was ICE COLD! It was another 10 minutes before our waitress finally made another appearance at our table and I explained that this was the 2nd one and it's still cold. She offered to bring my son something else but he didn't want anything. So she took it off our ticket and said that they microwave the mac and cheese and they've been having problems with it. No one wants to know that their food is microwaved. Surely, they could've heated it another way. Highly disappointing. The front end is very unorganized. A host/hostess would be a nice addition since they...

As soon as Google alerted me that a BBQ place was ahead at the next exit my vehicle suddenly and unexplainably swerved towards the off ramp and l somehow found myself in the parking lot. To be fair, I was expecting a dive with modest curb appeal. But the parking lot was clean and well maintained with ample space. The building was appealing. Immediately greeted upon entry and found a nice place to sit. The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting. Service was very friendly, personable and prompt, the food arrived quickly without delay. Despite all of the numerous choices offered, I elected to partake in the pulled pork sandwich and stuffed jalapenos. I was extremely pleased in my choices. I found my sandwich to be a solid ten in the flavor dept but it was also ever so slightly dry, but was extremely enjoyable none the less. I factor this resulted on cook time Vs. table delivery times. The stuffed jalapenos were WOW, simply awesome and the biggest star of the visit. I was tight on time so l scarfed down my food and was out the door in record time. High Octane certainly didn't disappoint and I'd happily eat here again. I'd highly recommend visiting this establishment when your...
