This place is SO good!!! The food is absolutely delicious as are the desserts!! I got the tom yum soup and the som tum papaya salad and both were perfect.. Other on our table got the king oysters and the crab shumai as appetizer and they were super good. The shumai was present well & looked really pretty. The thai tea was delicious and I love that they have an almonf milk option too! My friends got the kao soi which is a yellow curry with fried chicken and it is the ultimate comfort food. The desserts were spectacular too. Love me a good mango sticky rice with a perfect mango and a really good coconut sauce. Honestly this place is so down to earth and not pretentious dispite having an amazing menu with great food and super fresh ingredients. I'd rather drive to El Dorado than try to wait undetermined wait time for getting any Thai at Leo's in Santa Fe lol. They have a nice seating area. Not stupidly loud and the people are so nice! There are quite a lot of options for...
Read moreI haven’t had anything this delicious in a long time. Each dish was better than the last. Had the crispy tofu appetizer, Huu Tot. Tofu had perfectly crisped exterior and soft pillowy interior. Edamame, boom, spicy, well cooked, deliciously flavored, and generously sauced. Also Tom Ka, the vegetables in this (and in everything to follow) were perfectly complementary and not an afterthought. The flavor was light, bright, exceptional! Also had the Pad See Eww with added shrimp. Squeeze the lemon on top, well balanced, everything you’d want in this dish. Noodles were perfect, shrimp, plump and plentiful. Star of the show was the Koaw Soi, yellow curry with fried chicken. Got some green curry to go. (I know …. I like food … and this was, like, so good!!!) can’t wait to go back and try everything else. It’s a one wok kitchen. Chef owner. They are busy. You wait for your food, you enjoy it as it comes, and you’re lucky to do so… beyond...
Read moreFinally a great brick and mortar Thai shop in Santa Fe! Their Panang is excellent and truly authentic. I was suspicious of their Ke Mao - it uses ramen noodles instead of the traditional wide noodle - but I was amazed. It is out of this world! Their flavors are exceptional and their attention to detail and intention for authenticity is obvious. Such a wonderful and enthusiastic team and a great addition to Santa Fe. We’re lucky it’s so close to home! I consider myself hard to impress when it comes to good Thai food - but Chai Yo is on par with and better than the best Thai food I’ve had, both here through the US and...
