TLDR: Good pizza, poor service. Whatever is happening in the kitchen is fine. The front of house is dropping the ball all over themselves.
My 1st order was pick up. ProTip: Use the drive-thru! I mistakenly went inside and was denied service behind a line of customers for 10+ min. I hopped back in my car and got my pies through the window while they were still standing there inside. đ¤Śââď¸ But wait! One of my pizzas was missing because... no one made it. I was asked to wait behind the building while it was prepared. Someone came out to take my ticket b/c they had no idea what it was. Then someone else came out to take my order again. Eventually my gluten-free pie was delivered but the carrier sloshed it on the way and had to run it back to the kitchen for a makeover. (I'm pmsl at this point, kids are gnoshing in the car.)
The verdict? The GF crust was soggy but it tasted good enough to scarf. No complaints on the traditional crust either.
2nd Visit: Dine in. Can you guess that this went hilariously wrong as well? It did.
After a day in the Pecos, what sounds better than cold pints and fresh pizza on the patio? Upon entering, it wasn't clear if there was table service. (There's not. No one is going to come to your table ever for anything.) It was slower on an early Sunday evening. And yet I waited on the patio for over an hour, inches from a speaker for acoustic singers in arm's reach, through a toddler meltdown while sipping local cider, for pizzas that never arrived. Porque no? Because the staff had boxed up our dine-in order to go. The pizzas were just sitting there waiting for us to pick up for god knows how long. That about sums up the level of attention you're going to get here. And they were out of GF crust this time and a number of other things. Offered some poor guy warm beer! đ

Read moreI had the opportunity to sit down in some peace and quiet, away from my kids, to have dinner at Upper Crust before my closing shift at work. What a scrumptious and wholesome little delight that is Upper Crust Pizza. I had the spinach salad because Iâm a sucker for blue cheese and some hot wings. The salad satiated my need for some good fresh greens, with some walnuts and a lovely vinaigrette. The hot wings were perfectly spicy and piping hot, as I could still visibly see the steam as they brought it to my table. I graciously lathered each wing in blue cheese and what a delight.
The staff was top notch! A wonderful lady made sure I had a cup of ice with my Sprite. Two different gentleman asked me how my meal was, the last one as I literally write this review.
An older couple came in as I was finishing the rest of my meal and were able to obtain an IPA beer sampler. I donât drink but I thought that was courteous of them to offer that. Iâll definitely be back, they have a drive thru window so you can call an order and just...
