We grew up in rural northern New Mexico. I spent my summers at my grandparents farm where everything we ate came from the farm. So I’ve lived the farm to table concept. My wife and I were really happy that we found a restaurant that embodied that concept. The reviews were great so we made reservations to celebrate her birthday there. When you drive up it really has a great curb appeal. The ambiance is really nice. And it did not feel like some sort of stuffy high class place; other diners were dressed from super casual to semi-formal. We liked that aspect a lot. So curb appeal and ambiance get 5 out of 5 from us. They opened promptly at 5 pm and we were seated in what appeared to be the main room. Our waiter, Kendall, explained some of the history of the building and told us we were sitting next to the original exterior wall of the building next door. There was a frame through the existing wall that showed the original adobe wall beneath the current finish. Kendall explained the written menu and the off-menu items in detail with a strong knowledge of what we were going to be served and where it originated. Kendall brought fresh bread and butter to our table and it was amazing. We ordered the rock shrimp bisque appetizer and even though there were only two small shrimp in each small serving the taste was wonderful. So, 5 out of 5 for the bread and appetizer. Throughout our entire meal Kendall was very professional and very attentive to our table. I would have to say he is one of the best servers we have ever had and we’ve dined in many of our countries best restaurants. So, 6 out of 5 for service. We ordered our entrees, I ordered the ribeye and my wife the chicken. The meal arrived in a timely fashion. The ribeye was cooked to the correct temperature but one taste and you were immediately bombarded with so much salt and the meat was extremely chewy. My wife’s chicken dish had the same problem, way too much salt. Maybe if you like a lot of salt on your food this would have been okay but we don’t so not so good. Kendall spoke with the chef and he offered to have our meals remade. however he did explain that the chicken was marinated in a brine and thought that remaking it would not change the saltiness of the chicken much. Our total time in the restaurant was already a little over an hour and when we first arrived we were told that our seating was limited to 2 hours. Since the flavor was probably not going to change much and to wait for food to be prepared again would put us close to the 2 hour seating and we didn't want to be rushed, we opted to just finish what we’d been served. With the very small serving sizes and the high cost of the entrees we cannot in clear conscious rate the entrees better than a 2 out of 5. Where we were seated we could watch the staff preparing bread for the tables. There were two different individuals cutting the bread in to the pieces that went to the tables. One thing that stood out was that neither of the individuals was wearing gloves and they were handling the bread with their hands. Also we noticed that in between cutting the bread they handled other things around the counter tops and did not wash their hands before handling the bread. In this day of covid handling food with un-washed hands is not acceptable. And that was only the part of the food preparation area we could see. What goes on back in the kitchen? So for hygiene they get 1 out of 5. So we feel that ultimately great food is the purpose to go out to eat and Farm and Table did not meet that. We will not be returning to eat here and we will not be recommending...
Read moreDisappointing to say the least! Two stars is a stretch but I will be generous because the atmosphere was pleasant. Staff is full of bad attitudes! Can be downright rude and act as though you are troubling them any time something is requested or asked. I am pretty sure they are all employed in the customer service, food/beverage industry centered around well paying customers.
Extremely overpriced food that is more like small samples or hors d'oeuvres. The best thing on the extremely limited and small menu was the overpriced 9 dollar FRIES. Their excuse is they have a seasonal menu. News flash - there is tons of SEASONAL choices to make a wide variety of foods and that should not equate to a small almost non-existent menu with very limited, very few choices. The ketchup was bland and the "aioli" was so thick and had an off taste that it was basically mayonnaise mixed with some seasoning. Not exactly an "aioli" but maybe that is why they charge 9 dollars for FRIES.
Even there children's menu was full of overpriced limited food choices ranging from 14-20 dollars(really a children's menu). I do not want to sound like an angry, cheap customer. I don't mind paying for good atmosphere, good customer service and good food - all makes for a good dining experience. But when a restaurant has an extremely out of touch priced menu(we live in one of the poorest states in the US), extremely poor customer service, and a very limited mediocre food menu - that is a recipe for a very bad dining experience. I guess that is what's to be expected from a restaurant that is being run by the "elite, entitled, millennial's" Dining was for my sister's birthday dinner - 6 adults. 6 children and a $677.00 bill later, I can guarantee that my familia will not be dining at this restaurant any time soon. It simply is not worth the overall underwhelming and poor dining experience.
Just another note that was yet again a very disappointing touch - I had them hold the birthday cake(ice cream cake) in the freezer while we dined. They had asked if I would like them to cut the cake and I said yes(that was nice of them TO OFFER). Not ever mentioning that on the final bill I had a line item for "CAKE CUTTING - $20.00" If I was going to be charged 20 dollars for them to cut my cake I would have happily declined.
The best thing we ate all night was the delicious ice cream cake from - Cold Stone - Thank you Cold Stone - (But then again It might have been so delicious because of Farm to Tables magical cutlery - CAKE CUTTING - $20.00)
we left still hungry and very...

We dined at Farm and Table on 3/13/21. We had a 5:45 reservation and were seated at 6:00 as the table was not availible. We had a wonderful dinner which is consistent with our prior experience. We have dined here many times over the years and have had many excellent meals. We ordered a salad, main and dessert and then asked for the check. As soon as the check was brought to me to sign, the manager came to our table. She stated that it was 8:00 and that we were over our time and had to leave. This was fine, as we were about to leave, but never have I been asked to leave a restaurant after a $400 meal.
When I asked to speak with the manager she told us that we were over our time limit, and that is why she asked us to leave. She stated that we were told that when we were seated that we had a 2 hour time limit, which is not true. I shared with her that we would not be coming back. In the middle of the outdoor courtyard she raised her voice and stated "I hope you never come back."
This was the definition of unprofessional behaviour. We had a wonderful dinner until the last 5 minutes. At her request, we won't be returning.
In response to the owner's comments:
You seem awfully confident in a series of events when you weren't present. It is not surprising that your staff has created a narrative that portrays their actions favorably.
We were not told by your host or the waiter that there was a 2-hour time limit.
By your account, if we were seated at 5:49, your service took 126 minutes. If your kitchen can't keep up with your self imposed timeline, that isn't the diners fault. We ordered as soon as the waiter came to our table. We did not linger. To be told to leave minutes after the ink was dry on the check is incredible.
I never left your courtyard. I waited patiently to speak with the host in the courtyard, asking for the manager. I was directed towards the manager. I did not raise my voice or change my tone until I was treated with disrespect by your staff. I then left. After I was in the parking lot, the manager shouted over the patio walls "I hope you had a wonderful evening" This was clearly facetious and disrespectful. I did extend an obscene gesture, from the parking lot at a brick wall.
No one threatened your manager or staff. That is completely untrue.
I may have been premature in wishing my desire for you to go out of business. Instead, I wish you the...
