The place overall had very good vibes. I came in and no one was at the front so I wasn’t sure where to ask for a to-go order. A nice lady by the back directed me to the front and said someone would be there soon. The person who took my order was nice. We had vouchers from the hotel next door. Yay free food!
I ordered 1) bacon , eggs over easy, white toast. (Hash browns?) 2) French toast and fruit But then I changed my mind and asked if I can get sausage instead of the bacon? She said it was okay and changed it to sausage instead of bacon. I think?
When I came back there was no one in the front again. I had no idea where to get my to-go order from. I didn’t see any signage to indicate where it was. After a minute a lady appeared and I said I had a to-go order to pick up. She pointed at some bags, didn’t say anything , and then walked away. It seemed a little rude but whatever. I had to look at the receipts to figure out which might be mine. My receipt said “Hotel French Toast” “SD Sausage”. I looked around and no one was there to verify but I didn’t order 4 orange juices or whatever the other receipt had said.
I was about three mins away when I opened up my bag and saw French toast, sausage, and fruit. No sign of eggs or toast. I figured maybe when the cashier input the order she might’ve put just sausage by accident.
Onto the food itself, French toast was good. Tasted homemade. The only issue was the butter was salted. Not usually the kind I put on my French toast but not bad. Just meant I put less butter than usual. The sausages were good normal sausages. Fruit cup had grapes, melon, cantaloupe. Good fresh fruit.
TL;DR customer service everyone was nice and helpful except one lady. Food was normal and good for free food. Except they forgot most of my second meal. Vibes were good, people seemed to enjoy eating there. If I’d gotten all my food or the lady hadn’t been rude it would’ve...
Read moreHogan Restaurant. Pretty good little diner that has a lot of character. I found this place by happe stance. First, I was hungry for lunch after working through the lunch hour. Then I seen by the Navaho Windtalkers Museum. I which I had enough time to visit that. Anyway, on with the Review. Greeted by friendly staff, was seated quickly. The person that seated us, also got our drink order (this doesn't happen too often, so that is a plus.
The FOOD: They have a selection of a few different and ethnicity foods to select. American (BBQ), Italian, and Mexican, Navaho. I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak on a Hogie Roll. I was so glad I did, as there was a selection of breads today. That Hogie, that steak was not just thin sliced, it was more thicker like a steak should be. So tender and it melted in my mouth once it took a bite. The order came with what seemed to be made to order Frensh Fries. I am certain, once the order was being created in the kitchen, the Fries came out as undercooked or aldente just by the color of the Fries. But these potatoes they used had very long Fries. So I asked rhe waiter to alerting about the undercooked Fries. He promptly got a new order going. Once the new oder of Fries came out, it was much better with the presentation and perfectly seasoned.
All in all, the meal was hardy and the staff very accommodating. This establishment does Honor Veterans and Active Duilty. There you go my brothers & sisters . I recommend d 5...
Read moreI recently visited Hogan Restaurant, hoping to escape my troubles and enjoy a satisfying meal. Unfortunately, my experience was far from ideal, which is why I gave it 2 stars.
Firstly, the ambiance of the restaurant left much to be desired. The décor was outdated, and sand seemed to be scattered across the floor, likely tracked in by other patrons. As someone who detests sand, I found this quite unsettling.
The menu offered a variety of options, but the dishes I tried were inconsistent. While the appetizer was flavorful, the main course was bland and lacked seasoning. To make matters worse, our waitress, named Sandy, only served to exacerbate my anxiety.
My discomfort reached new heights when I visited the restroom. The soap in the dispenser had a sandy texture, leaving my hands feeling gritty and unclean. This combination of unfortunate events triggered my PTSD, making it impossible to enjoy my dining experience.
Despite these challenges, I must commend the restaurant for their dessert, which was both delicious and beautifully presented. However, this alone could not redeem the overall experience.
In conclusion, my visit to Hogan Restaurant was marred by numerous sand-related incidents, inconsistent food quality, and subpar service, including a waitress named Sandy. Consequently, I could only give it 2...
