ABSOLUTE WORST customer service encountered during a 2 week trip and eating at over 20 different restaurants in 6 states. The server never greeted us once we sat, just put water on the table and left menus. I said "Thank you" when she did this, but she just ignored that. She waited on other tables and in between that she stood behind the bar for minutes on end, just standing there doing nothing. She never said anything to us again, and even avoided looking our way, until we had to stop her almost 45 minutes later to take our order. Meanwhile, multiple other tables were seated and served (and left). Thinking our food was in the queue, we waited almost another HOUR without ANY updates from the server. During this time, I actually left my party and went across the street to the bakery and bought some food. They were really friendly, had excellent customer service, and even a local (I assume) who was eating in there recommended some great-smelling fresh soup. I returned to the rest of my party waiting at Iron Tree and we discussed leaving, but decided to give them a chance (our mistake). Finally, we stopped our server again (after again passing by us many times serving other tables and completely ignoring us) and asked the status. She looked annoyed and went to the kitchen, but since we were seated next to the kitchen WE COULD HEAR STAFF LAUGHING when she told them we were still waiting for our order. REALLY CLASSY WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS! I was getting up to leave, but my wife stopped me and basically said "screw it" we waited this long and let them serve us. Once this happened, we actually heard the hamburger patties drop on the fryer. At this point, the entire place was empty except for maybe a table or two outside (About 5-6 tables were seated the same time or AFTER we were seated and they were already long gone). We finally got the 4 burgers we ordered 15 minutes later (for a total of around 2 HOURS after entering). The server delivered it without any comment, no apologies for the wait, nothing: just dropped the plates and started to walk away. Immediately, to avoid another possible hour+ of DEAD TIME, we asked for the checks and to-go boxes (which we just got ourselves since it was on a shelf nearby anyway). Compared to all the other food we ate on this trip, the food was mediocre at best. If you like garbage customer service (ZERO STARS), lackluster food (1 star), and have hours to waste you will love this place! If not, do yourself a huge favor and eat at one of the other places at this...

Our friends wanted us to try this new restaurant. A new restaurant in the Divide, Florrisant and Lake George area is BIG news...so of course we went a long. I write reviews on lots of restaurants. We were greeted by a friendly woman at the register who seated us at a table where there was all ready a couple sitting. After 5 minutes the table across from us was cleared so we got up and re seated ourselves there. We all liked that they self-serve cold water in Mason Jars at a little stand. The place is bright and nicely rustically decorated. The staff were quite friendly. We ordered. Both my friend and I ordered the Apple, Walnut, Goat Cheese salad with raspberry vinaigrette. Her husband ordered the tacos and my husband ordered 12ft corn beef sandwich...her husband said his tacos were good. My husbands sandwich was more bread than meat. It was as he said, Ok. He liked the chips. The apples in the salad were old, grainy and bruised. The romaine lettuce was chopped but the rib was left in it making it hard to eat and the many pieces of my lettuce were old and withered. The vinaigrette was too tart. So all in all it was not a good salad. Both of us decided we were not going to feel guilty having dessert. So they ordered Grandma's Chocolate cake and I ordered apple pie...heated up...and my husband ordered cheesecake. He said the cheesecake was ok...the other couple said the huge pieces of cake were dry, hard to cut into and not tasty at all...we all tried bites of it...but seriously hard...not moist...or as one said, "moist free!" Looked pretty but not what they had hoped for in a chocolate cake. My apple pie was not cooked through...soggy crust...gooey ...mixture that the apples were in was not at all palatable. The apples were crunchy still ... I asked for a latte...the coffee was good...but the temperature was not ...it was less than 150 degrees. Lukewarm...but nice foam!! All in all we would like to see you do well. Perhaps we will come back and give it one more shot...but as it stands now I would not recommend your...

Since I visited the first time, I have come back several times, usually on the weekends. I have had the Chicken and waffles which were superb. The chicken is tender and perfectly seasoned with a satisfying crunch. The waffles had a faint sweetness and wonderful soft texture. I enjoyed it. I have also had the Cheese Board, which features various imported cheeses paired with their breads (the Challah is to die for!) and honey comb. It was delicious, even my picky 3 year old ate it. I ordered their Tacos and their Macaroni and Cheese. The tacos were like a street taco you would get in San Diego, just missing some Elotes haha! As far as the macaroni and cheese, WOW. That was some comfort food in the bowl. A creamy cheese with hints of green onion and garlic, and bits of crunch from the hash browns mixed in. And the fried egg to top it off- my son said "My taste buds are exploding!". Now At this point, I have had several of their cookies and baked goodies as well as their cinnamon rolls and cheesecake- all en pointe. And what I expect when I pay what I pay for them. But let's get to the beverages. The espresso is presented beautifully in a clean porcelain cup appropriate for espresso, but with a candy swizzle stick. What a nice surprise! I love all their fresh brewed loose leaf teas, which is imported by the owners brother. The Dark Rose is so authentic, I had to buy them to take them home! The Kombucha was so refreshing. I came from a place I could make it for home and buy off the tap where ever I went and I could drink some bubbly flavors without killing my blood sugar. Whatever they are doing is legit, because my blood sugar was stable after drinking their Kombucha. The staff is always welcoming and remember the things we talked about from the last visit. I have a tendency to make requests and I recently requested a special cake made for me and the owner agreed to make it. I love their willingness and openness to improve. I will surely be coming back,...

Horrible experience overall. Out of a lot of menu options for reference. Service was terrible - at least 15 minutes before we were helped, wanted to leave but there wasn't much in the area - one waitress tending to the entire restaurant doesn't help. Manager and/or owner was walking around doing nothing and eating at the bar while the one waitress runs circles- help your staff if you're understaffed how about? Other girl working was a teeth in mouth type moment, no idea what was going on, pretty sure it was the managers daughter, additionally, they had a child working bussing tables and seating people. Beers were ok, food was concerning. Honey chicken sandwich had hard sand like pieces in it, enough to spit out, chicken was also dry. Fish and chips were over cooked and all ordered fries were an inch or less in length. One of the worst food experiences I've had in a while. Mind blown at how many good reviews there were. 😬

Food and service were fantastic. We had Buffalo chicken pizza, fig pizza, chicken and avocado sandwich, two different burger, the chili and the Brussels sprouts and everything was 5 star great. We’ve spent a lot of money at a lot of restaurants around the country and this ranks up there with the best of them. The in-house made buns for the burgers were particularly amazing, I’m a stickler for burger buns because the bun makes the burger imho. Also, I’ve drank a ton of beer and their beers were of the highest quality. And on top of all of this the servers were super nice and the food came out surprisingly fast considering about 20 people showed up at the same time. Should be a must do for any foodie from Colorado Springs to Buena Vista. Also, go to nearby Eleven Mile Canyon…omg…one of the most beautiful places in the country and you can drive all the way (on a dirt road).

While RVing in Central Colorado, we purposely scheduled a Sunday visit to the Iron Tree based on rave food reviews. Add our kudos: Sunday brunch with entertainment! Large margaritas and pleasant conversation with other guests while the kitchen prepared Green Chile Benedicts; a not so traditional breakfast tradition. The owners were busy in the kitchen and bakery; however we met the parents who were instrumental in the owners / chefs relocating from Florida to open what is becoming a go-to for foodies. We traveled a portion of the Gold Mine Tour scenic byway from Canon City to reach this ā€œremoteā€ spot. However, it’s only a short drive down Hwy 24 to Pike’s Peak COG Railroad (our next destination) and Colorado Springs. The Iron Tree is a great place to hang your hat!
