We stayed at the Sheraton and decided to eat dinner and breakfast here. Dinner was uneventful. The deviled eggs ($9) sounded good but lacked any flavor and the filling was very runny like they added way too much sour cream. It was not mayo. The cheesy birria and chips ($19) were not any better. The meat had no flavor at all. Definitely not the birria flavor we all have come to love. It must have been leftover pot roast from another night. And the cheese sauce was just Velveeta. The salmon ($36) main course was ok but I left for my room feeling kinda empty. Oh I was stuffed but not satiated. They had bacon wrapped bison meatloaf also offered as a main course. More on that at breakfast. The next morning was breakfast. The buffet ($32) was your standard limited offerings. Scrambled eggs from an industrial source. I’m thinking powdered eggs. Bacon, sausage, some kind of creamy potatoes labeled as breakfast potatoes (probably from last nights dinner offerings). Bread pudding and an unlabeled offering of meat and tater tots. Which looked a lot better than the creamy potatoes. It was actually decent when the Gunslinger hot sauce was added to it. And it was the leftover bison meatloaf chopped up and mixed with tater tots. I found a piece of the bacon that was wrapping the meatloaf. Everything in the warmer containers were barely warm. They are going to have some sick people one day. There was some salmon (lox) in little cups for offering. Nothing like what we had in Palm Desert Sheraton. These cups were sitting out and the lox was room temp. The weather the day before was 107 and was going to be over 100 that day. The first piece tasted fine but the last piece was slimy.
Overall this is a bad place to eat. Drive or take a cab a couple miles north to Ahwatukee and eat. There are many good restaurants and all kinds...
Read moreWe stayed at the resort and expected this place to be just as nice. We were very wrong. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They however are very slow paced and it took us forever once we were sat. We dined there twice during our stay. Lunch and breakfast the next day. Both times were painful. We waited for what seemed like forever to be able to order or even get our check to pay. The food was absolutely terrible. For lunch on our first visit, I ordered the Turkey sandwich with a Side Cesar salad. I asked them for ranch instead of the Cesar dressing. They delivered it with the Cesar dressing on the salad and a ranch on the side. They fixed it right away. My sandwich was awful. The Turkey was slimy and wet and leaked the liquid all over the plate making the Croissant bread soggy. I did not finish it. The fries were good. The next day we ate breakfast there. Same slow service. I ordered the basic egg, bacon, and toast platter. I asked the waiter if I could possibly do one scrambled egg and one sunny side up. He said no problem. But when my meal came out it was nothing but scrambled eggs. They also didn’t look cooked all the way. Gross. As I went in to take a bite I noticed a hair. I was over it at that point. I ate the bacon and burnt toast. He ended up sending the manager over and she was very kind and offered to remake my food or give me a different meal or even a credit but we were already checking out that day so I declined. This place was absolutely over priced for being associated with the resort. I was very disappointed to have paid over $400 at this establishment to be served such horrible food, twice. Don’t waste your money eating here. Go...
Read moreI thought I was just gonna have a hotel meal as my wife is busy at a Conference and then this place knocked me off my feet… the pride they take in what they do, the caliber and the energy they put into the service is unsurpassed in recent memory… Ask for Mark, wonderful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic young waiter, who steered me towards the roasted salmon with a mustard crust on it that rivals, actually surpasses anything I had in my home town of Boston in many years. Even something as simple as bread explodes with flavor and excitement with their crisp, crunchy heart threatening homemade biscuits that are as much fun and pleasure to eat as a steak. Their main courses are not a chunk of protein served on a plate floating amidst a half inch of water surrounded bt vegetables. This plating, as some call it, is artisanal. I began with the tomato hummus with crunchy fresh vegetables , real savory hummus and lightly grilled naan bread Food is amazing, like being in ultra luxury cruise with someone’s taking you out for $200 $300 dinner. I have not written a review endorsing a restaurant may be in 10 years ( yeah but jump in headfirst when I wanna knock a place. ) Really really glad I stumbled into this place. I can’t imagine anybody would not be totally delighted and...
