Read morePlease properly train your waiters. Food was fine but our waiter was too raw to be a formal waiter. If possible I could give the service we received zero star. Won’t come back and wouldn’t recommend anyone that values dining experience with good service.
We are a group of six and one of us has diary allergy and asked him which of the dishes have diary. He wasn’t sure and said “I think…. “ It’s ok that you don’t know but you should check with the chef instead of making the assumptions here with someone has fatal allergy right? My friend kindly asked him to check with the chef and make sure and explicitly told him she has diary allergy. He went back and pointed out two of the entrees that have diary. My friend then ordered a salad for sharing that has Vegan mark on it. The salad came out with lots of feta cheese on top. He explained that we had to ask for vegan options or it’ll not be vegan style. This is right after she told him she has diary allergy and checked on the diary free entree options. We had to ASK him if he could remove the cheese on top. Yes he didn’t apologize or took the initiative to change it for us.
Two of us ordered wine and cocktail. Our waiter kept coming back asking if we would like to have more wine or cocktails like 5 times.
When we checked out, he gave us the bill and said “Please make sure everything is correct”. We checked and found they wrongly put the wine we didn’t order on the bill. We told him and he brought the new bill and said “Please check yourself and make sure”. I asked him “Is it our responsibility to make sure this is right or is it yours?” HE DID NOT ANSWER. I’m sure he heard the question he just didn’t feel like responding. Due to the group size we had to put 20% for the tip, the service we received was not...
Read moreI had to visit MK a second time, before writing this post, as I wasn’t sure something can be just as good the second time (you know how some restaurants can be that way…..huge disappointment). After an orally orgasmic experience the first time at MK, I’m so hysterically pleased that the second time proved oral orgasms can occur im multiples and be better than the last. I was lucky enough to make eye contact and share a very brief exchange of words (or what I thought was words) with the brilliant and legendary founder of and genius to everything that is Mawa’s kitchen. Our second encounter, on my first visit, occurred when she graciously and humbly approached my table and, with the most beautiful, warm, motherly, and happiness-filled smile asked, “how is everything?” I smiled but my mouth would not open. I was in the presence of legend and an icon, and I could not speak, only smile and nod, because I was enjoying one of the most incredible meals you can have in Aspen. TRULY!!!!! My only pushback (of course because I follow an editorial code of ethics as an unprofessional critic). The location. If this was in the center of Aspen, it would take years just to her a reservation. I will now digress back into finishing the most-welled deserved review. EVERYTHING ON THIS MENU IS THUS FAR DELICIOUS; so much so, that I have no doubt that every visit and new tasting will be just as good if not better then the rest.
I had to wash my hands (my tongue helped out), so that I can comfortably write this no-review-can-ever-be-good-enough review. If food is your only source of happiness, beware. If you want complete happiness in life, it’s not complete without several dozen trips to Mawa’s Kitchen.
Thank you,...
