This location is owned by the owner’s daughter (yup she worked real hard for this lol).
Pizza that will help fill you up, if you are in a bind for lunch or dinner, and don't have the time to go into town to get some Fratelli's or NiMarco's or have something else delivered.
This pizza chain started up on the Navajo Nation, where diabetes and obesity is very prevalent, and with little competition (like most businesses on the Navajo Nation), it's no wonder they have succeeded in preying on people with a high rate of diabetes and/or obesity.
Their ingredients are very generic and just about all of them come from cans. Actually, I don't think there is even one fresh ingredient in their pizza. Their best tasting pizza is probably their pepperoni, but most of that is due to the pizza dough being so fluffy, which they make by adding a high amount of yeast then letting the dough sit in the walk-in fridge for about 2-3 days.
Almost all of their locations have minimal decor to them and do not take pride in keeping their work space organized and clean (you will easily see supplies stacked up on cold fridges or back work spaces).
This location is basically the same as the rest, meaning below average service, below average taste, and very below average atmosphere. I'm sure any food inspection team would find a few violations at any time in any of their stores.
The wings are probably better than their pizza, but all the sauces come from another company that makes them. The subs are too expensive for the amount you get and the salad bar would be to "die for", just about literally ha.
The owner is LDS, so that's why they do not open on Sunday's, incase anyone is wondering.
If you live around Doney Park area, or are passing through, I would seriously consider getting pizza from NiMarcos' or Fratellis. NiMarco's has a location on the east side of town, just past the mall. The best budget cost tasting pizza though is definelty Fratellis. They have some amazing pizza selections and their ravioli's are so delicious.
The best pizza in town would have to be either Pizzicletta or Fat Olives. Those places will use many fresh ingredients and I know Pizzicletta will toss the dough in front of you. Pizzicletta also has a location where they serve pizza at the Dark Sky Brewery location, which is probably the second best brewery in town. So if you are craving some very good pizza and a couple of drinks, be sure to visit Pizzecletta with DSB...
Read moreI’ve ordered from Pizza Edge a ton. They’ve always had solid pizza and service has generally been decent. Unfortunately, it only takes one frustrating experience to leave a bad taste in your mouth and make a place hard to recommend. In my case the delivery driver forgot to drop off a 2 liter and I couldn’t catch him in time by the time I realized. Totally innocent mistake, no harm done at all. What’s frustrating was calling the location to ask if they’d give him a quick call so he could turn around and drop it off. In between lengthy pauses I was told by the person on the phone that he wouldn’t do that and I was told in a very terse and matter of fact fashion that I’d have to wait 40 minutes to get my 2 liter. I was confused so I asked again if he couldn’t just call the delivery driver and I mentioned that it’d be warm by the time I got it. I was told again that I’d have to wait 40 minutes for a guy that literally left my driveway less than two minutes ago. I was then told the driver could grab a new one so it would be cold, as if that were a huge favor to me. I would’ve been cool with so much as a “Ah, man, we’re sorry about that” but, nope, nothing. Instead, when I acquiesced to the 40 minute wait, there was a short pause and then I got hung up on. Guy couldn’t spare me a “Have a nice night”. I don’t know whether this is condoned by their management or not, but it’s not the kind of business practice I care to support.
Update: The delivery driver was incredibly polite and contrite when he came back. Wish the same could be said for the people they have...
Read moreUpdated review: After posting the initial review the owner of Pizza Edge reached out and apologized for the bad experience. I appreciate her trying to rectify the issue and even offered a discount if I decided to give them another chance. I gave them another shot and I was pleased with the service this time around. I think it’s a bit on the pricey side but the pizza and wings were really good, and I really appreciated the owner trying to make things right. For this I will update my review to 4 stars.
Initial Review: I called to place an order for delivery. I was told it would take 15 to 20 minutes. I had to call back 45 minutes later to check on the status. I was told that the order must of been canceled or not taken at all. When I spoke to the manager, he stated my number was not on record even though the person who took my order verified my name based on the number I was calling from. There was no effort from the staff or management to resolve the issue other then a simple sorry, followed by silence. They stated they would make me a pizza but offered no sort of discount for making a mistake; or the fact I would wait over an hour in total for a pizza. Then he made statements making me out to be a liar about placing an order in the first place. Too bad one star is minimum because I would give pizza edge on HWY 89 a 0 out of 5 if I had...
