I recently embarked on what I thought was a pilgrimage to my beloved Panda Express, that temple of orange chicken goodness. But, plot twist: I parked, walked in, stood in line, and only then realized I was actually at Tokyo Joe’s. I stood there, processing the betrayal by my own brain. Could I leave? Should I stay? In that moment, I decided to roll with the universe’s odd sense of humor. I ordered a dark chicken bowl with noodles and veggies, mostly out of confusion and mild panic. When it arrived, I had to admit—it looked like it might have been prepared by someone who knew vegetables could be more than just garnishes. Everything seemed fresh, like the veggies just got back from a spa retreat. The portion size was large enough to make me feel a little guilty for not running a marathon beforehand. Kudos on that, Tokyo Joe’s. Taste-wise, the noodles and chicken were solid, but it felt like they were shy at the flavor party. I found myself staring at the bowl thinking, “Is this when the sauce cavalry comes in?” Spoiler: they didn’t. But despite the sauce scarcity, I enjoyed my meal, and there was a satisfying “I made a mistake, but it turned out okay” vibe to the whole experience. Would I go back? Sure, if my brain ever tricks me into thinking it’s Panda Express again. Or if I just want to visit my veggies post-spa day. Really though… I’ll be back again!

The food tastes just like the Tokyo Joe’s we know and love. The restaurant could use a cleaning as every single table had noodles on it so we picked the least dirty of the tables. When I asked for a plastic to go container because I had ordered a large bowl and would need 3 paper boxes I was told they are only for to go orders and to just use as many boxes as I needed to. There is no fee for ordering to go, and if the prices for the to go items are the same as dine in why would it matter if I ordered to go or not? It took 3 little boxes to get everything packaged up, and nobody wants to have to juggle that many boxes. I’ve never had anyone at a Tokyo joes tell me I can’t have a plastic to go bowl because I didn’t order to go. The service isn’t all that good but the food is great and they have some awesome art on the back wall.

Here’s my receipt and here’s what I got. I understand being rushed and being fast casual? But this is incompetence. I paid for a bowl of white rice, a few strips of broccoli? Mind you, I had no idea what sauce was what because absolutely nothing was labeled. Thanks. I’ll definitely make sure I don’t pick up from this location again.

This was my first visit to a Tokyo Joes, and I can honestly say that I will never set foot in this location again. On a positive note, the food was nice and fresh, and I was satisfied with my meal.

We went in a little after 7pm on a Friday night, so I was expecting there to probably be a little wait. The cashier who took the order was pleasant and efficient and did a very good job. The back of the house was easily the slowest I have ever seen. We ordered 2 regular bowls and it was nearly 45mins before our order was ready. Several other customers also experienced the long wait and no explanation was given as to why/what was going on. I was ready to walk out, but being that we paid $17 for our meal, we decided to wait it out. I counted 7 people working, so I'm not sure that it was a staffing issue. Needless to say, it will be a long time before I step foot in a...

I've known of this restaurant for some time, but only recently decided to try them out. I ordered the MoJoe Bowl because I liked to idea of the pineapple. I felt the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed the sweet and spicy sauce and did not find it too spicy. The chicken was fresh and juicy, and infused with savory flavor. The chicken and vegetable ingredients of the MoJoe Bowl were attractively arranged by the chef. Though it wasn't a busy time of day, the staff were friendly and efficient with my order. The young lady who took my order was helpful in providing suggestions on what I should try for my first visit. She even provided recommendations on what I should order on my next visit. Overall, this was an enjoyable experience for me! The Timberline location was clean, the food was wonderful and the customer service was on point. I will...
