I recently visited Nagoya Sushi & Hibachi for lunch, and my experience was a mix of highs and lows. The highlight of my meal was undoubtedly the miso soup – it was the best I have ever had, full of rich flavors and perfectly balanced.

Unfortunately, the sushi rolls did not meet the same standard. The rice was hard, and the spicy salmon roll featured poor-quality minced salmon. The shrimp tempura roll lacked freshness, and overall, the quality of the ingredients and textures were disappointing. While the rolls were formed well, the execution fell short of expectations.

The interior of Nagoya Sushi & Hibachi is nicely decorated, giving off a pleasant sushi café vibe with colorful Japanese umbrellas hanging upside down from the ceiling and beautiful murals painted on the walls. Initially, I thought the excellent miso soup was a good indication of what to expect from the sushi, but sadly, this was not the case.

From other reviewers' experiences, it seems that while the restaurant has some standout dishes and a pleasant atmosphere, the quality of the sushi can be hit or miss. Many have praised the hibachi and certain specialty rolls, while others have found the sushi to be average or below expectations. The service is frequently mentioned as friendly and attentive, which aligns with my experience.

Overall, while the miso soup was exceptional, the sushi left much to be desired. I hope the restaurant can improve the quality of its ingredients and sushi preparation in the future. Based on the varied experiences of other patrons, it may be worth returning to try different menu items, such as their hibachi or other recommended...

Good food! Terrible customer service!

Terrible customer service at the front cashier station. This girl wanted to charge me for a cup ice water.

Keep in mind I come to this restaurant sometimes twice per day & 5-6 times per week for myself & family & give them my business! This girl has such a nasty attitude every time I would come to order & unappreciative doesn't know what kindness & respect is.

I ordered food the other day & kindly asked for a cup of ice water. The girl upfront says again! I said excuse me... Again? Yes she said... Cups cost me $$$$ I don't give cup of water for free. I said are you serious???? You're gonna charge me for a cup of ice water with all the business I give you here. I'm here twice per day & 5-6 days a week ordering from you & you want to charge me for a cup of ice water??? Wow... That's terrible & embarrassing on your behalf.

Stay clear of this place ... $$$$ .... The girl working the cash register upfront.... Unprofessional... Rude... No class....

Doesn't know how to be polite or be kind to there customers... $$$ hungry....

Customers seen & heard everything from her that evening......

First impressions are incredibly important. The opening of this restaurant has literally been the HIGH LIGHT of living in Davenport. Everything was delicious, on top of the fantastic service provided by the lovely Ms. LuLu Don't forget this name, she actually ran out to my car because I forgot one of my sides. She looked like the only one running around doing anything honestly aside from the gentleman actually making the food. The Thai tea was fabulous, not overly sweet. The sushi was great quality, beautifully plated, and generously portioned. Very fair price for the amount of food. Teriyaki steak, cooked to perfection. Instructiond properly followed with my Request for rice to be fried, much appreciated. And the Kanni salad. TO DIE FOR. Fantastic ambience, beautiful artwork inside, authentic and modern.

THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE. I look forward to...

Tonight we experienced Nagoya Sushi & Hibachi for the first time and we ordered California Roll, Spider Roll, Hibachi Chicken and Udon Chicken. We also ordered two unsweet iced teas and the bill was just over $54. The Sushi rolls were both pretty average. The Hibachi Chicken and Udon Chicken were not quite what we had hoped. The chicken was cut in small pieces and neither dish was that tasty. Portion size was plentiful. The Hibachi Chicken is served with side salad with ginger dressing, soup, grilled vegetables and brown rice. We would not order either dish again. We would return to try more Sushi. Service is friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a decent amount of seating and the dining room is decorated nice and festive with colorful Japanese umbrellas hanging upside down from the ceiling and beautiful murals are painted on the walls.
